Hooray!

So today I had my first weigh in after a week, and holy cow! I was surpirsed how much weight came off after just getting rid of all the junk food and sugar! I went from 270.0 lbs to 260.6 lbs. Almost 10 pounds!

Let me tell you,
It was NOT easy to get me off soda. I love soda and real soda. Packed with all the chemicals and caffeine and sugar! So when I stopped I felt pretty good the whole day just chuggin' my water and crystal light. Then around 11 that night I had a migraine the size of Alaska covering my entire left side of my face. THROBBING. I took medicine and woke up almost every hour. It was miserable. I thought it would be okay after that day. No. I had a headache for three nights in a row.

But after all that complaining I have to admit that it was very nice once I didn't have that anymore. I woke up feeling better each day. I am starting to learn more and more about nutrition and my food intake. I am being cautious and rationing everything. I don't see a change yet and I can't wait for my clothes to be baggy. That's why when I stepped on the scale this morning and found practically 10 pounds gone I knew that those hard first three days were worth it. :)

WOw - you rock, Kim! That is a huge accomplishment to get away from sodas! Eventually you will crave good cold water...hard to believe, but I did it! And congrats on dropping weight, too!

It's incredible the first few weeks how your perspective changes :D You are doing so great, we are so proud of you! Remember- if you have a craving, slowly count to how old you are (22) and ask yourself if you need to eat it for nourishment, or if you want to eat it for pleasure. After taking a few seconds and thinking logically, you will come to the right answer. By the way- fantastic coat in the profile picture... I miss it :(
