schmetterling34's Notizen, 30 Aug 12

Its been a fortnight now I have stopped recording my food & exercise.

So Saturdays weigh in will show how good/bad I have done. I do expect a little rise, as last weekend was very food orientated. Haven't had much time to exercise either. Managed level 1 of the 30day shred yesterday afternoon, followed by a kettlebell class in the evening. For the second part of the class I changed my usual 9kg bell for a 12kg bell. Only 3kg, but boy oh boy......I thought my arms would fall of ;). But no they are still there & I don't even ache that much. the last couple of times I have excercised I have noticed that I don't really sweat that much. I find that very strange! I do drink plenty, lots of water before and at 1 liter during a 1 hour session. Am I not pushing hard enough? I always was under the impression that the fitter you are the more you sweat?!

Never mind. It won't stop me. Hopefully next week all is back to normal & I can exercise a bit more regular :)

I would think the opposite would be true. If you are fitter then you don't strain as much under the load so you don't need to sweat as much. From your descriptions, you probably have a high cardio fitness. As long as you are feeling the burn while you are working out, I'm sure you're pushing hard enough. You certainly don't seem like a slacker in that department.

I've been finding as I get fitter I don't perspire half as much as I used to. Unless its really humid or hot, I can do a 20 min jog and hardly have to shower. My husband on the other hand sweats buckets. I think it has a lot to do with wether or not your prone to it. One thing I was told by an instructor years ago is, the true level of fitness is in how quickly your body can recover from your exertion.

Hi, there. Sorry I haven't been commenting on your journals but I've already discovered I had one buddy whose journal activity doesn't show up on my "my fatsecret" page and now I've discovered that yours doesn't either. I just clicked on your name and came to your home page and discovered that you have indeed been writing journals but I just don't see them! So, again, my apologies. I will make an effort to check in now :) Good job increasing the weight on your kettlebell. I just used a kettlebell for the first time last week. I've only done the one exercise with it (kettlebell squats) but didn't realize there were entire classes devoted to kettlebells. Cool! I'm sure it's a great workout. I'm not sure if you are supposed to sweat more or less, the fitter you get. That's a thought to ponder (and perhaps google!). I do know that it's important to vary the exercises you do as your body will adapt to the same routine and become more efficient at it (i.e. burn less calories doing the same work) unless you change things up. Anyway, glad I discovered your journal and I hope you won't hold my absence against me! Have a great day :)

CONGRATS on getting to your goal weight!!! I just noticed that you updated that in your profile bio! I'll be watching you to see how to maintain it!!! That's always been the issue for me....maintaining. I've gotten to goal plenty of times but always seem to go back to an unhealthy relationship with food, so I'm hoping this time I really learn new habits for a one way trip DOWN, with no return ticket!!! :) Glad to hear you found your arms were still there after the kettlebell workout! LOL! I laughed when you wrote that!
