I always manage to come up short with my fruit, veggie, and water servings a day. Does anyone have any tips or tricks that help them get all their servings in each day??

Also - are there any great food finds that anyone has run across??

Try dipping a banana into yogurt, trying a salad as the main course of either lunch or dinner everyday, keep apples in the refrigerator (crunchy and cold), find recipes featuring the fruits and veggies you most prefer. Good luck!

with lunch and dinner always have a fruit serving and a vegetable serving. So like if your eating rice have some broccli with it and 1 cup of apple sauce on the side. or with dinner if your having chicken have carrots and a peach on the side. also for snacks between meals pick some apricots or some strabberries and just eat with some water. When you finish your meal with a fruit its just like your haveing desseret.

I just toss some extra veggies into almost anything I eat! Grated carrots, cabbage, peas or other small veggies (I like grated carrots & cabbage b/c I can buy them shredded) into rice or pasta. I have fruit with yogurt or ceral in the mornings,and I eat a couple of servings of veggies at lunch instead of chips with a sandwich. When I eat out, it's much harder to make sure I get them in though--sort of throws my routine all off! And I know someone was saying your body has a hard time processing fruit in the evenings--I don't know about that...but I have to have a late night snack, and I WANT something sweet...so I let myself have a cup of fruit (grapes or frozen berries are nice, top with a little fat-free whipped cream--yum!). That is the habit I need to break the most!

My water tip: I CHUG a large glass of water before every single meal and snack. My rule, i don't eat unless i have that glass of water first. So that get's me to about 5-6 depending on the glass of water. The rest i use for zero point drinks like crystal light or diet iced tea. As far as fruits and veggies.. i try and have one of those with every meal. Fruit for breakfast and snacks. If i have a frozen dinner, i chop up baby spinach (into really small pieaces) and mix it with my frozen dinner. SOmetimes 3 cups worth. It's fiber, it's veggies and it barely tastes when mixed with some kind of frozen dinner. AND it fills me up when i eat those little tiny frozen meals. For dinner i always try and have at least two servings of veggies. And you NEED to have breakfast , which i see you rarely do Missy!!!!So why not make that two fruit. I like that you post your day's food.. if i can edit my posts i'm going to go back and do that.
