I'm really discouraged because I've exacerbated my hamstring strain. I pulled it a couple of weeks ago, and I thought it had healed enough to go running on Sunday. I felt fine when I was exercising, but last night, my hamstring was aching and actually felt worse than when I first strained it. I wouldn't be so impatient if not for the fact that I wanted to start training for my first half marathon today. I needed the 14 week schedule to build up my weekly mileage and be in proper shape for the race in October. Now I have to sit around and wait for my hamstring to heal and then hope I can still pull it together for the race. For the first time in a LONG time, I had started to feel like I was accomplishing something and I had something to work for. I had a goal and a sense of purpose and pride that I can't get from my dead-end job. I was just discovering how much I loved to run...and now I have to put it on hold (along with Tae Kwon Do, which I also love). It just sucks.
