What a busy weekend!


Most of it was spend outdoors. Saturday in LB's garden & Sunday in mine. My back ached. But I have really enjoyed the slightly warmer weather & some sun rays on my skin. I have noticed that I am a lot more confident in showing of my body these days! The years I have spend in baggy clothes are finally behind me!

Ran as usual on friday & although I did not run much further I did add about another 1/2 mile within the same time :). I think my new trainers are not right for me. I put my old ones on for this run & my feet & legs felt a lot more comfortable.

Poor Holly: silly little mare jumped out of the back of the landrover when she heard me say : Bones! Talk about selective hearing. She totally forgot that she is a nearly 14 year old springer lady that doesn't jump anymore. Not sure what she hurt. But on sunday she didn't want to get up & held her head really low :(. After some Arnika she seemed to perk up. When we came back from a walk I lifted her out of the landrover the way I used to lift my lurcher, she cried :(. More rest, Arnika & a warm bed & she was back to almost normal, when a sheep knocked her over. Then she fell out of the patio door. Poor bumble, she is not having a good time!!

Today is my double session at the gym. First an hour with James, 1/2 hour rest, one hour kettlebell. Last week I was still aching on thursday. Will my muscles ever get used to working out? Or is it a good thing, meaning I am working hard & building new ones all the time?

Was pleased to see 67kg on the scale this morning :). Usually I am up a little after a weekend, but not so this morning. This might be the beginning of something ;)....hehe I just don't want to jinx it.

Aw poor Holly! I hope her luck improves. Great job with the exercise and avoiding a weekend gain. I don't think the aches will ever go away as long as we keep pushing with heavier weights. I suppose if you get to a point where you don't want to build any more muscle (does that ever happen?), you could keep the weights steady and then maybe it wouldn't hurt so much. All running shoes are definitely not created equal. And I've found that, much like clothing, each manufacturer's shoes fit differently - even different models. So you can never be complacent and always stick to one size. I hope you find some new ones that don't cause any troubles.
