This is my journal entry number 1,000. One-frickin'-thousand!
I can NOT believe that I have done 1000 entries here. This anniversary, and the fact that I reached 77.x kilos yesterday demands a little pondering on the whole journey so far.
What a wild ride it's been. So many ups and downs. How do you figure that in weight loss, by the way? Is it an "up" when you lose weight and vice versa? LOL.
So many things have happened over the last years. I have completely changed in pretty much every way. Here are some things that I have done since October 2010, when I started:
- Obviously, I lost all my overweight. Twice.
- I started playing music again.
- I joined one band, formed another, then quit the first one. I am now in the perfect band for me.
- I got a better full time job.
- I got fit.
- I got to work at the gym.
- I got to teach weight loss.
- I got to teach music to kids.
- I got my finances in much better shape.
I know that there are many more things, but I could keep going...
I have no weigh-in today - we slept at my brother's house and I am typing from his computer. Obviously I didn't bring my scale. Also, being with my brother here, I can't stay and journal all too long. :)
However, I think I did great yesterday, with no real issues. We were at the markets, and we went to see the concert. Both Wife and I LOVED it.
I had my planned meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner, and I came out of the day with about 400 calories to spare.
...
So, since I can't talk day-to-day stats because I didn't weigh in this morning, I thought I'd like to celebrate my anniversary by doing a before and an after picture. I know that some of you have been asking for a new "after" picture. Well, here goes - see if you can figure out which is the "before" and which is the "after" picture. :)
The "before" picture was taken a few weeks into my weight loss journey, around 143 kilos, the "after" picture was taken yesterday, at 77,9 kilos.
Seeing these two pictures side by side really moves me. I can't believe I used to look like that. Back then, I never realized just how bad things were, and nobody told me. Boy, I wish someone had told me. But then again, I probably wouldn't have listened anyways.
Today, I see that this journey has been the single most important thing I have ever done in my life. I truly believe that it has SAVED my life, also in a literal sense. I know I have probably added decades to my life by losing all that weight - and let's not forget the QUALITY of those added years.
I also need to add in this part of the journal that I am truly thankful to all you guys for sticking with me through thick and thin (literally) and always being there with support, help and suggestions. I do my best to pay it back, AND pay it forward.
But again, you deserve
ONE MILLION THANK-YOU'S!

Today, we're going BBQ-ing!
Good friends bought a house, had a baby and are now ready to invite for a name giving party combined with house warming and BBQ.
We're supposed to bring the meat we'd like to cook, along with drinks, and they will supply house, salads, breads. Sounds great. We chose some beef dogs, reasonably low on calories (half of what a regular frank or weiner would be), and I will stick to those, salad and diet soda. No biggie.
I assume my weight is a little higher than it was yesterday, and that means that I need to work towards the 77.9 new goal today. I will there for NOT allow myself 2600 calories today, but 2100. Should be no problem at all.
I got this. :)

Today, I'm thankful for:
- Going out for another fun day!
- ONE THOUSAND JOURNAL ENTIES!
- You guys.
- Wife.
Life is not only good. It has to this day NEVER been better.
