End of the year weight. I knew that I was going to put on some weight during the holidays. I made the conscious choice to eat whatever I wanted during the last 2 weeks. I have determined that I enjoyed the family time. The activities associated with baking and candy making were much more enjoyable than actually eating it. I am much more aware of how I feel when I eat poorly and don't workout.
I am not really concerned about the weight gain. I'm sure I will drop it off in the next few days. Most of it is inflammation and swelling due to the carbs and salt. It is interesting to me that I am not stressed out and angry at myself. It feels like I needed to prove to myself that my old way of eating made me feel bad.
I was very active and doing a lot more physical activities at home. The lack of structured exercise has not been a good choice for me.
I am still a carb addict. Cookies, candy, cake and pie are my drug of choice. I know that they are not something I can have in the house. More importantly I won't enjoy them after the first few bites. Then it just becomes a feeding frenzy. If I can't remember what I ate in the last hour, I'm out of control!
Amazingly I just spent 2 weeks proving to myself that the changes I made in my lifestyle are sustainable and empowering! The way that I was eating and the inactive lifestyle don't make me feel healthy or happy! If I want to feel good and look good the changes are forever.
It seems so simple now. I have to think, as the weight came off, there's been a shift in my brain chemistry.

Great plan.... you enjoyed the holidays with food and family and know what you have to do! I too have a problem with the sweets and cannot have them in the house. I think is ok to have a break from time to time and enjoy things but you are so right that there is a shift in our mindset to do the right thing. Bravo and will be right there too! 2023 will be even better.
