3000 for a fridge? in what world?

Jenajabba, That does include installation I believe but RV fridges are just super expensive. It's ridiculous. At least it's not the new full size double door fridges they put in now. They can't bring them through the door so they have to take out the slides in the RV to get it inside. That alone is probably around $5,000+! My husband is very handy so he is hoping to just be able to replace fridge door. The hinge itself is plastic not metal...why? Makes no sense to me!😬😱  

**UPDATE** After checking out some "McGyver" ways to fix fridge hubby decided best to install a new door. Ordered one that will take a week so minimal usage of fridge till then. It barely opens. We will pick it up at next stop. Total cost if Joe puts it in was $438.00. Who knows what it would be if they install it... 

Joe just keeps sounding better and better and better. Such a talent to be handy. What’s a trip without a hiccup😃 

YOH, Yes it's great but as we were saying yesterday...he is now checking on buying a new Rv...# boys with their toys..  

Sorry to laugh girl but that is exactly the reaction hubs would have. So funny. The heated seats in our truck went out a few years ago think it was around 1000 to fix and he wanted to get rid of the truck and get a new one. Same mind set. We got it fixed but then 3 of the neighbors all got new trucks (keep up with the Jones lol) and he had truck envy. But he settled down.

YOH, I knew you would understand. I think I talked him down for now...🩷🩷 We have been looking anyway but to buy one out of state seems like a whole new set of problems...😘 Mortica, we have been to GJ before as our son lives an hour away. It is interesting. Lots of Mesas and rock formations. 💜

Diana 1234, that is one expensive refrigerator. Is that because of the wiring and way they must be powered when traveling ?? I had considered buying an RV since we like to travel, but would probably have to buy another truck in lieu of what I currently have.

that's crazy expensive just for a door. Wow. guess they know you don't have many options for fitment in the space alloted for it  

otb, All rv stuff is expensive. I'm sure it's exactly as you said. It's ridiculous that the hinge is plastic. It is attached to door so it cannot be replaced.. Im sure that's done on purpose.,I'm lucky to have a handy husband. It's a hassle but not gonna let it ruin our trip. 💜 

Bionici, Partly for the reasons you stated. It runs off electric, propane and battery but also because since Covid everything has skyrocketed! We love our 5th wheel. We tow it with a full size, one ton diesel Chevy. Does great. We have taken it all over western and mid western US. This will be our longest trip yet.😊

Diana 1234, the reason I would need to buy another truck was for the 5th wheel. I don't feel very comfortable towing with a small ball on the backend of my current F150. We had considered a larger pop-up at one time for camping within 200 miles of home, but believe my wife would be much more comfortable in something else. 

Ashville, NC has The Biltmore Estate. Both the grounds and mansion are beautiful. Very interesting history to see (a display) how the mansion was run & built.
