So, I went to take a class in Copenhagen yesterday. The class itself was really good, the surrounding - weight journey related - parameters not so much. The class was about how to deal with people who have psychiatric issues, how to interview them about their illnesses and how to help them back towards the work market. VERY interesting, and something I need to fully absorb over the next few days. It was held at a fancy hotel in Copenhagen, and I was on the go all day. It's a two hour train ride each way, and there are so many things about that journey that I feel that I need to prepare for food-wise. First of all, I left hours earlier than normal, so I had to re-think breakfast. Second, I didn't know what was for lunch. Third, I didn't know what I would be eating for dinner - but assumed it would be at a restaurant. Fourth, I assumed I'd be struggling to find water enough.
Well, some of my concerns were correct, some not.
I had oat meal as an early breakfast, just to get my metabolism going. I learned once at a WW meeting that after we sleep, our bodies don't "wake up" and start burning calories before we eat. This is why breakfast is so important, because it kick starts the metabolism. So I make sure I eat as one of the first things in the morning. Then, I packed my traditional two eggs and rye bread to eat on the train, after about an hour's ride. That way I would have food at "normal" time for me. When we got to lunch, the Hotel supplied a LOT of different foods, but sadly they competently managed to screw EVERYTHING up for me. All the salads had oil based or other dressing on them. Plenty of bread. Plenty of meats in different sauces. Potato, rice AND pasta. Sadly, it was all mixed together in very handy bowls and made it impossible to dissect what was actually in there, and thereby "forbidden" for me. I can eat it, but I don't want to. I had a feeling this would happen - it's a problem I see constantly at gatherings like these - so I brought green beens and turkey breast from home. Sure, it's boring compared to some of the other stuff, but I am on a severe weight loss mission this week (after not losing anything last week) and I want results. The food I had was delicious, and I enjoyed it without ANY issues. The classes ended at 4 PM, and I realized that if I hurried I could make it on a train home 30 minutes later. I went to the train station a few minutes away and managed to buy a tuna salad on the way. Basically a green salad with canned tuna and a little bit of low fat mayo mixed it. I asked for no dressing and tossed the bread away. Perfect dinner. I ended up at 1200 calories for the day, and had 400 calories that I used for ice cream(!). All in all it was an awesome day. I love learning new things and I love going out like this, meeting new people. Oh, and the result of the weigh in? Well, I was hoping for a new lowest weigh in before Saturday morning, and IT'S ALREADY HERE! WOW! I am today at 87.6 kg. I try to think back to when I last weighed this little and I think it has to be in my EARLY teens! This is so wild. This means I only have 10.4 kgs to go to reach my FINAL FINAL goal. :) Today, I'm leaving work at noon, going to Holbæk (a city near by) with Wife. It's our 5 year wedding anniversary, and we are going to get her checked up on at the hospital. Nothing too serious, just things that needs to be done. Then, who knows? Maybe dinner out? I'm making sure to have plenty of wiggle room in my calorie counter. :)
Yup, you guessed it! Life is GOOD!
Have a great day everyone!
