I am 35 years old. I was recently hospitalized for what we believe was a mini-stroke. I had loss of feeling in my left arm and blurred vision followed by a dull headache on the right side. After many tests, specialist visits and a physical, I was told that my cholesterol was out of control and had suspect narrowing of the interior carotid arteries (close to the brain). At 35, this is very alarming. The following week, my father was rushed to the hospital with chest pain. During cardiac cath, they found the primary anterior descending coronary artery had 95% blockage. He received two stents prior to the end of the procedure.

It was time to change my lifestyle. So, from now on there will be no more impromptu drive thru cheeseburgers or tacos. My wife, parents, aunts and uncles have pledged to change as well due to these events. We will support one another to continue a healthy diet and regular exercise.
