Overall last week went okay. I know you can't "technically" apply your activity points to prior days, but on Friday when I was figuring things out, it looked like I had pretty much evened out overall with my weekly points, activity points and daily target points all being accounted for. I went to the gym while I was in Bakersfield and instead of just relaxing in dad's pool, decided to tread water for a bit...what a workout! Points were not in any way followed while I was up in Bakersfield, but I tried to keep my snacking moderate to say the least.

Friday: My husband's best friend is stationed over in Japan on the USS Kitty Hawk which is going to be decommissioned this year, so they pulled into port here in San Diego over the weekend. I got to meet his girlfriend, she is so much like me it is insane. I hope he stays with her and neither one of them runs the other off. They also brought along their friend Rob. It was good to see Isaac. I think it has been about a year and a half. Too long to not see someone that is like family...that's a fact! Unfortunately, he won't be back for a while so my husband missed out on seeing his "brother". We all went to breakfast on Friday before leaving to go up to Bakersfield. I had a couple of eggs, bacon and about half a pancake. Then on the way up we were all starving so we had Jack in the Box. I ate a breakfast sandwich and about half a large fry. Then when Vesta (my roommate) and I finally got to her parents house after dropping everyone else off, we felt like our stomachs were eating us alive so we ordered pizza and patato wedges.

Saturday: I woke up in the morning to Vesta's mom making Biscuits and gravy. It was soooo yummy. I had one biscuit with butter and boysanberry jam and the other with just the gravy. I only ate about 2/3 of the second biscuit. I had one and a half glasses of milk so that helped to fill me up. After letting breakfast settle I hit the gym for about 40 mins. Rode the bike as long as I could stand to since I didn't have my Ipod with me. The 24hr fitness up there doesn't have their music very loud and the guy next to me was talking to his friend the whole time, couldn't stand it any longer. Little sis and I went to Taco bell for lunch. I ate a bean and cheese burrito, a quarter of a mex pizza and about a third of the nachos bell grande. We also got blended coffees. Dinner was not so bad, riceroni and steak. Lots of the rice, about 3 oz of steak or so.

Sunday: We got up super early to find out that my husband's step-brother's dad had been in a fatal motorcycle accident. Of course that kept us over a little longer than we had expected so we had to have McDonald's rather than a sit down breakfast on the way out of town. I essentially skipped lunch when we got back, but snacked on a sleeve of oreos while Vesta was napping. Then I took a nap. We made Frito Boats for dinner.

So I can only imagine what this past week will do for my weigh in next week. I have entered the weight that I remember from Sunday when i got out of the shower. I am sure it has gone up a bit, but at least it is lower than last week. Today is an okay day. Vesta and I met for lunch at Chick Fil A which wouldn't have been bad had I not let her talk me into having the other half of her milkshake. So I am using a few weekly points today if I don't get a chance to really work out. But that is okay...that is what they are there for. Hopefully the rest of the week I will be able to have close to zero point days. Oh and if anyone was wondering...by "zero point day" I mean only using my daily points and not any of my weekly or activity points. :)

Progress...it's a beautiful thing! So here is an update...i dont want to jinx it, so I am not going to get too excited, but here ya go!

Recently I made the hard commitment to myself to not have fast food from August 1st through midnight on the 31st. I knew I would probably stumble a little at first and low and behold...I totally did! My mom came down for the weekend with my two younger sisters and we went to Legoland, of course...nothing but junk food. So that didn't go very well. After the weekend, though, I started counting points again.

Monday: I did well throughout the day and planned on having a zero point day, then had to leave work early to pick up a friend from the airport. Got hungry and gave in to temptation and went to Wienerschnitzel to get chili cheese dogs and fries. It was soooo yummy, but...I was sooooo incredibly close to staying within my points for the week. I went over my points (yes including the weekly ones) by a whopping...half a point! haha. SO close!

Tuesday: *Cue the Angels Singing* Ahhhhhhh! I had a great day! I got almost all of my good health guidlines in and made up (sort of) for Monday. :) I had half a point left for the day and went to the barn and worked Dutchess for a little over an hour. She is doing great.

Today: had to leave work again early and deviate from my plan for a bit, but I HAD ANOTHER ZERO POINT DAY!!!! WOOHOO!!! It feels so great to be doing well finally. I am just taking it a day at a time and trying not to get too excited. I know that it is good to be motivated and stay positive, but tomorrow we are going to the Race Track with work and then this weekend I am taking a friend to Bakersfield to see family and friends. So we will see how things go this weekend. I am just happy that I feel so great while I am watching points. I don't feel like I am starving like I have the past couple of times I have tried to get back on track. so this week may not be perfet, but it is a start. My chart looks horrible, but i am hoping it will start to show that nice doward slope from now on. Starting next week anyway!

So I have written a novel already, but just thought i would write to let my buddies know i am still here and trying. I hope everyone has been hanging in there and doing well. :)

Points have been okay again today. Got another chocolate craving so i am having some Hershey Kissables right now. I didn't get to work out because my roommate had a little photo shoot tonight and needed her toes done and a webcam installed on her computer. I might do pilates tonight after Josh and I do the webcam thing tonight. At least that way I have done something. Tomorrow will be the gym and horses.

Cheeks had asked if riding was something of a workout and yes...it is. but mostly if I ride bareback. That is when I really have to engage every muscle in my body to balance myself. When I ride in a western saddle, I get to just kind of hang on for the ride. I can plant myself in the saddle easily and not have to worry about coming off. :)

I am already out of points (just for the day, not the week) and i am still pretty hungry. I want to save my weekly points for this weekend, but I will figure out something. At least if i don't stick to points, I am getting my workout routine going and can throw the points in the mix next week and really be back on track. It is hard having to wait to go grocery shopping. That is what is really setting me back right now. There is only so much I can try to do with the stuff we have to eat in the house. So I will do what I can for now and hit it as hard as I can next week. I hope everyones' week has started off great and continues to go well the rest of the week!

Today got a little bumpy...my boss sprung a delivery on me that took me out of the office at lunch time, so I met with a friend at taco bell. not too shabby, had a burrito and the triple layer nachos. So yummy! That coupled with the pineapple that I had this morning left me with 11 points for the day. Not too long after I got back, I got a chocolate craving...looked in my drawer and saw that I had the Hostess Chocolate Donettes in my drawer from last week. Unopened of course for those of you that may wonder! Those were nine of the eleven points I had left. I have two points now. But...I am going to the gym tonight. My new struggle is how long I want to stay on the bike. I really want to do an hour, but I am longing for some horse time. I moved them this weekend and didn't get to ride at all, so I am thinking about doing half an hour at the gym while traffic dies down and then going home to change into boots and jeans and going to the barn to go for a ride. It is sort of exercise, but not really. So for today being my first day back on the plan, I feel like I did okay considering the circumstances. Tomorrow will definitely be better. More good health guidlines will get added into the mix and I will probably do a full workout...or maybe even take the dogs for that five mile walk. Actually (as the lightbulb goes on in my brain) I think I will do the bike for thirty minutes tonight, go for a ride, do the walk tomorrow and then do the bike/horse ride wednesday, walk thursday and then just go for a ride Friday. There it is...my work out plan for the week. Now to make myself stick to it...that is the challenge at hand...that added to getting my points right and fighting the temptation that will come with the visit of my mom, sisters, cousin and possibly my aunt this weekend. :)
