The final week of the 21-day Fix starts today, & my knee feels soggy. That's the best description. I completed a 5K walk/run Saturday & am paying for it today, time for some new shoes. No good results on the weight loss, in fact it's up again, but what did I expect? Last week I had 2 birthday dinners, one came with key lime pie & the 2nd had yummy cupcakes, which I ate more than 1. Plus, after the run I was exhausted & starving so I just ate. I tried to do better yesterday, as far as following the diet goes, but there you are. It's a consistent pattern with me of overindulging on the weekends.
What I CAN say is I've kept up with the workouts, but today's workout is going to have to be some low intensity walking. I don't think it would be wise to stress my knee with lots of squats & lunges, but sitting around isn't doing it any favors either. As for the diet, well I will once again TRY TO buckle down & stick with the eating plan. There's no birthday celebrations or anything else to derail me this week. I know what I need to do - I've got the list of proteins & veggies I need to focus on, and the measuring cups for portion control. I want to finish this week STRONG!

Yesterday I didn't feel well, stomach was all crampy & I couldn't stay out of the bathroom, so I skipped the workout. Also didn't stick with the diet too well, started off okay but then evening rolled around & I was hungry. Hubby had tortilla chips, grrr!!! They probably didn't help the upset stomach either, fortunately I didn't eat very many (yeah, keep telling yourself that). Today is off to a much better start, sticking pretty closely with the diet because I know I'll be going out to dinner with my kids & grandkids for my birthday! It was actually Wednesday, of course, but nothing wrong with 2 celebrations in 1 week, LOL! We're going to a place called Chicken & Pickle, they serve chicken naturally. I've checked out the menu & there are some reasonable choices that should fit in with the diet, plus afterwards we play Pickleball! Yeah, some extra exercise to make up for yesterday. I did get in today's workout already, & tomorrow I'm booked for the Go Girl 5K so there's that! Hope everybody has a nice weekend!

Week 2 of the 21-Day Fix has started off, well, not so good. Weight's up again, darn weekend weight gain. Of course, it's not helped when I go off diet as badly as I did yesterday, what with the Nutella banana pancakes (so good, though!). I looked at the calories & they were over 1700 for yesterday. Most days were less than 1300, which is either too low in calories or I'm guesstimating too low, LOL! I did manage to get in a little seated Yoga & stretching last night, plus some leg lifts for good measure. Today I did a much more vigorous circuit training, & I'm tired! Still got to work tonight. Like I keep telling myself, the goal is to NOT BAIL on the program, but learn to deal with those setbacks & focus on the plan itself. Hopefully next Monday will have better results, but for now I must keep on keeping on. Have a great week, everyone!

So, end of week 1 of the 21-Day Fix. I admit the diet kind of fell apart over the weekend, with the addition of junk food & too much eating out. In fact, I struggled to get today's yoga workout done - apparently yoga is harder to do on a full stomach, who knew. Oh well, tomorrow's another day. Week 2 starts tomorrow!

Well, no weight loss today...knew this would happen. C'mon, Toni, don't get discouraged! The goal is to finish the program, and today my bigger problem is that I'm sore from yesterday's workout. Today is a Cardio day, but instead of the Cardio Fix I think I'm just going to put in 30 minutes on the treadclimber, plus get in my 6000 steps. I considered that seven days of workouts with no rest days could be a problem, hmmm. Anyway, it's Friday, enjoy it!
