Good morning!
So, it's back to "normal life". Vacation is over. Boooo!
It's been a great 4 days in Paris, some of the most fun I have had in years.
If you've read my journals over the last few days, then you know how Wife and I have enjoyed it. I don't want to get TOO much into it all again (though I probably can't help myself).
On the way home, I got tempted by a good sale at the airport. I bought chocolate. Lots of it. LOL. Actually, 1200 grams of Toblerone. I already have them calculated, and know the damage they will do.
I will consider them my Trial Of Fire. I will not have more than a piece or two at a time, and I will record it all in my food journal. I will NOT go nuts.
I really feel that I have a good grip. I feel that I know what I am doing, and I don't really have a big problem having a little chocolate IF - IF IF IF IF - I can tell that I won't send the Carb Monster on a rampage. This is essential. Sometimes I can do this, other times I can't. These days I feel that I have control of it.
I loved the fact that I came home a good chunk lighter than when I left. I am today at 79.2 kilos, very close to my ultimate goal of 77. I am in no way rushing to get those last two kilos off me, I know they'll be gone in no time.
We came home from Paris last night around 11 PM. Guess who was at the gym at 7 AM this morning? LOL. Yup, that's me. I had to go, I felt HORRIBLE that I haven't been there for days - even if I did my workout video a couple of times in Paris. Still, it's not the same.
The workout was HARD, and I could tell that I didn't have the energy that I normally have. I think it is simply because of the less than optimal food that we've had. It was good food, sane choices, and low calorie (well, most of it), and it was all registered and counted as best as I could while on the go. I think it's very reasonable, the way I have calculated it. When ever I was in doubt, I would add a little extra to not cheat myself.
I have set my Madlog.dk calorie counter to maintenance calorie intake at 77 kgs. This has given me an allowance of 2150 per day. I had saved up a huge amount of calories I could spend "extra" while on vacation, so I had 3500 available per day without messing anything up, but I never needed to use them.
Here are my stats for those days:
Friday (travel day): 618 calories
Saturday: 1041 calories
Sunday: 1467
Monday: 1728
Tuesday: 1605
Total calories for the days: 6459 calories
Calories "not used": 4372. I have eaten 59% of my allowance, averaging 1259 per day, skipping 874 per day.
And speaking of numbers, I have taken approximately 65000 steps over the last 5 days. That's more than a marathon. :)
Not bad. Not bad at all.
It wasn't really something I did on purpose. I simply made sure to eat what I felt I should and what I felt was right. I simply ate what I felt like, but asked myself "Do you really want and/or need this food?" before each meal. And I had plenty of snacks. I've had ice cream, smoothies (not the protein kind), cake and other goodies. I haven't just skipped all the "fun stuff".
It feels great coming home and seeing that I actually lost a little weight. I can't say I could have lost more just being home - this is perfect. Obviously, the walks have helped me a lot
...
I still need to do my walk today. I was gonna do it right after gym, but it started raining hard. I'm glad I didn't go - I would have gotten caught smack in the middle of it.
Today is maybe a good day to try out my new set of rain clothes. I
will be doing my walk. I'm not gonna skip.
...
Today, I'm thankful for:
- Danish coffee! SO much better than the French. No offense. :)
- Sleeping in my own bed.
- New low, and not even feeling that I had to work for it. :)
- Wife!
Have a great day! Life is good!
EDIT:
The Fitbit Flex is FINALLY available here in Europe. About damn time! Obviously, I just pre-ordered one. :) Supposedly, they'll ship by the end of the month.
