Good Morning, FS Warriors! Boo Hiss! I did not get up and run this morning. I have this thing about running on the treadmill during severe thunderstorms. The lightning was fierce and the thunder so loud I wouldn't have been able to hear the radio anyway - and that's the important thing, right? My plan is to run tonight, but there's a chance that, if this keeps up, I may be bailing water tonight instead. I still have some french drains to install outside, there's some caulking and tuck pointing that needs doing before I can put this water intrusion problem to rest. My outdoor sump pump was steadily humming away, but doing nothing this morning when I went outside. I had to untangle the discharge hose from the float to get it going again, so I already had too much water lying against the foundation this morning. Why am I telling you all this? Because I can, i guess. Anyway, things don't always go as planned, so we just adapt, improvise and overcome.
Since I wasn't walking or running this morning, I decided to just sit at the table and enjoy my first cup of coffee since, I think, Saturday. So, that didn't last long. Didn't really give up coffee; was never in the plan. I was just afraid it would hurt too much too soon after getting over the stomach bug. Had a bowl of instant oatmeal with honey, which works to be a rather soothing satisfying quick breakfast. Now, I sit here at work sipping on, and enjoying my second cup, so that vice is restored and established.
Had worship practice last night, which I went to immediately after getting home. Decided to eat afterward. DW had made her world famous potato soup, which she kept warm on the stove till I got back. She makes hers with the little dumplings in it. Still trying not to overdo it on the eating (which should be my regular practice), so I ate one fairly good size bowl and 10 saltine crackers. I guess I really didn't need the crackers, since the soup had the dumplings, but I just like saltine crackers with soup. Down another 1/2 pound this morning, so I've apparently recovered from a weekend of unhindered gluttony. Not much more to offer this morning. Wishing everyone a wonamous day. Toodles!
