So, I recently embarked on this quest to lose weight. I'm doing this because I'm starting to not feel so "good". Because I'm Diabetic and on insulin. Because I have mild Neuropathy in my feet and my right arm as well. Because I have High Blood Pressure. Because I'm just plain ass tired all the time. And I'm only 38 yrs old. I'm currently 229 lbs. My goal weight is 170. I live with my parents as they're both elderly and need a little extra help around the house. The bonus to this is they have a small gym.
Anyways, today was Day 5 of working out. I've been alternating between doing Cardio every other day (recumbent bike, elliptical and treadmill) and then working out my lower body and upper body. When I work my lower half, I do leg presses, 1 set of 10 w/40 lbs and 1 set of leg lifts w/20 lbs. When I work the upper half, I use a weight machine and do a variety of arm exercises w/20 lbs and a variety of exercises with free weights using 5 lbs dumbbells.
Starting out at the lowest levels of all my exercises because my goal is to get in shape, NOT kill myself (and before this week, I lived a really sedentary lifestyle).
So there you have it. My story in a nutshell of sorts.
