"THINKING TO SWITCH BEFORE I GET IN DEEPER TROUBLE-CAN ALWAYS SWITCH BACK!" It is Friday today and tomorrow a work day. I am thinking to switch back to Dr Atkins diet. I don't know if I can do it, but I can always switch back. When I tried to do Dr Atkins diet I would always get sick to my stomach. I have to of his books and thinking to get his new version that it out. It says that it is not as strict as it use to be. I followed somebody on youtube that had real good results with it. She mentioned in one video something called stomach flu. The first two weeks are the strictest. Many who need to loose a little don't even need to start at the beginning, but I don't know for those who get this flu type feeling which I might had been one of those people. Also my back ground might make it hard as well, for we eat much bread. My husband loves to make his Greek village white bread, round loaves which he places in pizza pans to bake, it is crunchy hearty bread. I had been eating it and doing great, but I weighed it and portioned it. In the Mediterranean they eat their bread but they move a lot also, they don't have those buckets of ice cream, super sized fast foods, well, now they have fast food, unfortunately, mostly in the big cities. Nor all the additives they put in our food and fructose and stuff like that, hormones, ect. In Italy they eat their past, but you must understand they eat it like bread and portion it out, then they do physical work. So these cultures were never as heavy as we are here in the States. All in all I am very confused on what to do and it is so, so hard with all the temptations, fast food is not my problem, but the stuff at home is. I am scared to death to bake which I love to do! I need to find a way to eat and still be able to loose weight, but being sick with your stomach is not fun. I might try it again! The bread believe it or not which mostly got me in trouble was at the end of the year they gave George bread and I had a great idea of toasting it in the oven and crushing it into bread crumbs. My husband baked a lot of it up, but I left it on the table instead of crushing it. I started commenting that in Greece in grocery store they sell it like that, and have it with their tea or coffee like at breakfast or anytime. Maybe even at the bakery where they sell breads even. My son Nick commented as well. Why mom, they don't know about toasters? Well, they did not use to have them I said, especially in villages, but anywhere basically. I don't know about know I said and George agreed on that, boy that was so good I said, you can eat it like that, so I guess my mind said hay go for it! Bad idea, the better part of me knew it was white bread and one slice really how can you fill up on it for the whole day, plus the combination of all the other stuff, you put inactivity on their, and that is a sure fire recipe for disaster, it spells it out on it's own, you don't even need to go there. So mindless eating and strategies equal yo-yoing, and I have had enough of that for the past eight years or so. I have also starved and deprived myself for the majority of my life, it is like being between a rock and a hard place as they say. So it is back to the drawing board or throwing in the towel, that is where I am today with it, if I do I have to keep re-losing the same weight over and over again! I have had enough of that! There must be a middle to this where one can have peace with themselves! I appreciate all the support, that means caring, we need to care about each other because it is so hard, and easy to forget to love, and care about ones self! In this war with the battle of the bulge, blow that whistle hard, and charge.......let's all "KEEP GOING!"
