Update on mileage for the 100-mile challenge:
Friday (yesterday) 10/12: 4.7 miles; 3.7 of it on the elliptical, 1-mile walk; weekly total 9.3 miles; overall total 35.1 miles
Today: 4.1 miles, all walking; weekly total 13.4 miles; overall 39.2 miles (Day off tomorrow - Sunday - so these totals will hold until Monday)
Yesterday was a busy day, beginning with a volunteer job at the church's office. That will occur several Fridays from now to the end of the year. Because I'm over halfway to the gym when I'm at church, it just makes sense to continue on to the gym and go do something there.
Before going there, however, I HAD to go get the dogs' food over across town...they were nearly out! On the way, I HAD to stop in at JoAnn's (all you crafters will understand that one can't just drive by that store - LOL!). After those 2 stops, I headed to the medical clinic to get a flu shot and then popped into my favorite grocery store to grab up some berries, esp. blueberries for today's pancakes.
By this time, I was beginning to re-think going to the gym, but talked myself into it again because I had everything I needed with me, so why not just go do it? I did 2 20-minute elliptical routines, both with 5-min. cooldowns, so it amounted to 50 minutes total. Boy, was I beat! Unfortunately, it only netted me 3.7 miles, so I was going to need to do some walking later to achieve the 4 miles I needed for the challenge. Later in the early evening, I went out and put in a mile walking, although my feet were pretty darn heavy.
The elliptical pretty much kicked my butt at 50 minutes, so I need to dial that back on future Fridays, even though it means I'll need to add a bit more walking during these last challenge weeks. Sometimes it's hard to tell if tiredness after exercise is a good thing or an unhealthy thing. In this case, it felt like I really should back off of that exercise just a bit...I was still feeling a bit off later in the day. Good news is that today, I'm fine. It may have had something to do with that flu shot, too....who knows?
Time to go work on that bedroom today.
