Walked 3.3 miles on Friday (11/2), took the day off yesterday (Sat. 11/3) and walked 3.1 miles today, although at a slower pace.
Yesterday was to be a very busy day, as I have a committee meeting today (Sunday) for putting together Thanksgiving baskets for the less fortunate and the beginning of work on the Angel Tree for Christmas. So....I tried to do a lot yesterday, beginning with grocery shopping.
My problem came yesterday afternoon when I fell backwards off the ladder, trying to finish up painting. Although the floor is carpeted, the floor underneath is concrete and, believe me, it felt like it. I'm actually in really good condition, considering how far I fell and how I landed. I also didn't catch myself with my arms because I tried to make sure I didn't spill the paint! Well, the paint spilled anyway, but most of it went on the cloths I had on the floor....only a couple drops on the carpet....and the rest came down on me.
But, I'm up and about today....even getting back to walking outside. Basically, I feel OK but have the aftermath as if someone gave me a huge wallop across my back and, of course, my poor tailbone is still a bit affected.
So today....and yesterday....I'm thankful for:
* carpeting over concrete * calcium supplements that are keeping my bones strong * having adequate health insurance so that I could go see a doctor, if needed * a body that seems to be healing quite nicely * 2 nice doggies that kept me company the whole time I was lying on my stomach with ice packs on my back, and * DH who hovered and kept the ice packs coming.
