Doggies and I walked 3.2 miles this morning. Another unseasonably warm, bright and sunny day. This weather is why we get Snowbirds!
The past few days I've battled hunger but, for the most part, I'm just pushing on through it. Last night, just before going to bed, however, my tummy was growling and churning to the point where I felt I might not be able to get to sleep. So....I ate a cheese stick which seemed to do the trick. Where would I be without cheese sticks!!!
I'd like to *think* I have a feeling for how much food I can eat, and of what types, to maintain my weight within a 5-pound range, or so. But what I'm trying to do is push my base weight just a bit lower, so that the maintenance range stays in the 140's. So, to drop to that lower base, I've got to cut back....carbs, calories....to push that base weight down a bit. At least that's my working theory. So, if I have to battle a bit of hunger while in this adjustment phase, so be it. Of course, that's a whole lot easier said when I'm about to eat breakfast, than when all my eating is done for the day - LOL!
DH and I have been invited to a Christmas party for a choir group that he's in. Everyone is supposed to bring an appetizer or a dessert and the rest will be provided. I've been to other get-togethers before and handled them OK, but this one makes me uneasy. We haven't done anything socially with this group before, so there's a lot we don't know. We don't really know the hostess either, so I wouldn't feel comfortable calling and asking about the food. DH COULD ask around, but detective work is not his forte! Anyway, this will need to be another instance of having to work out some PLANS in advance. I just don't want to feel stuck in a new, social situation where almost none of the food works for me. Especially since everything has looked so good to me lately.....not sure I'd have enough willpower to resist.
Yes, I know I could just relax and enjoy things, doing the best I could. There were a few times like that on vacation and I felt OK with those decisions. But this holiday season is already tough and I'm not sure I want to ADD any more "indiscretions" to the season.
