On track today.
Worked out first thing in the morning (8 am or so). Did 60 mins total (30 mins on elliptical, 15 mins bike, and 15-20 mins weights--increased the weight to 12 pounds today). I think I need to increase the level of ALL of my workouts, and push myself harder---my body is really getting used to everything and I don't feel like I'm working it enough. For example, all those dvd segments from yesterday, the abs crunches, the resistance band---and yet, no soreness today!! Either I'm not doing them right, or I'm not pushing myself enough. Same deal with weights. I've been doing them more or less for 5 months, and yes, I feel some hardness at my biceps' area--but no real definition yet. I don't see much definition on shoulders, triceps etc., either. So, I need to increase the weight--I'll do so with 12 pounds, even if I do fewer reps (I can do more sets instead--and really push myself to at least do 8 reps with the highest weight I can manage, e.g., 12-15 pds).
And about time I started the lower body workout---lunges, squats, etc. My friend has been using the resistance bands WITH weights, and started to see results in about a month or so, so that's what I need to start aiming for, if I want to see any muscle definition.
Other than that, rest of the day was ok. I was going to a happy hour thing with my girlfriend and two cute guys this evening and I wanted to look good! Well, since I didn't like how I looked in my summer dresses yet, I opted for jeans and a cute top instead. Good choice--since I felt so much comfortable in those jeans instead of fidgeting around in a dress I didn't feel entirely comfortable in!
I must say, I actually liked the way I looked!! And damn, that felt good!! At the happy hour, I was in my element! I was feeling good--physically and emotionally, and that must have radiated out. I was relaxed, witty, funny, charming, and fun--even if I say so myself! :) And we all had a great time! We'll be seeing these guys again---they want to do a lot of other events with us...so, right on! The benefits of working out are great, indeed!
Food-wise, I'd done well on points earlier in the day and had some to spare, but I ate a little before going out, and decided not to eat any appetizers at the happy hour, and just have the wine, so I indulged in 2 glasses of wine. I came home and was peckish, and it wasn't too late, so had a veggie patty (high protein and fiber) and a rice cake, and a liter of water. Overall, I'm still within my points. Looked like I'd gained a pound this morning, but that is definitely due to TOM. Hopefully tomorrow won't show a gain due to today's wine. Well, at least, I don't LOOK bloated!! I am really starting to like my thinner face--it actually shows I'm losing weight!!
