I've had a headache since yesterday? I upped my water consumption from 8 glasses to 16 under doctor's orders and trying to stick to a 1200 calorie diet. I'm worried I'm overdosing on water because I've been peeing so much. Does anyone have any tips on this? Is it to much water or my body adjusting to the new diet maybe?

Potassium levels can drop if you drink too much water...need to replace salts and especially potassium. look up hypokalemia, happened to my wife a few years back.

The wife drinks a 70/30 mix of Water to Gatorade now.

I'll go get some Gatorade tomorrow and see if that helps. Thanks, HK3 I only have a slight headache but I suffer from anxiety which makes everything so much worse.

I also drink lemon water about 4 cups daily and I read somewhere it acts sort of like Gatorade and helps with potassium loss. I'm not certain if it's enough tho.

The only symptom I have is a lingering headache. Hopefully, it's just diet-related.

I would cut back your water intake to 10-12 per day, which is still plenty, and see if that helps. Have a banana and a Gatorade and snack on salted mixed nuts of your choosing.

And if your pee is as clear as the water you drank...you may be overhydrated.

My pee is a little dark not like dark dark but not pale yellow either. Thanks for the help and advice it's much appreciated.

Shoot, Doctor is probably right, you don't want dark urine...ask him/her about your salts and electrolytes.

Hi, angel_face0145! New follower here... Given your calorie and water intake, the headache likely comes from an electrolyte imbalance. The biology is complicated but, bottom line: Drinking as much water as recommended by your doctor may not be bad. *However*, increased urination means increased excretion of *salt* by the kidneys. The current thought is that, for so long, we've blamed *salt* for what *sugar* was doing (i.e., inflammation and the disease processes associated with it). I use Redmond Real Salt (a pink mineral salt from a very deep sea deposit in Utah) on most of what I eat and Ketochow electrolyte drops (magnesium, potassium, sodium) in my coffee. Both products are available on Amazon.

Sipping on some pickle juice tonight will go find something tomorrow. Everything is closed when you live in the middle of nowhere lol.
