Yesterday certainly was a workout for me. So much so that I gave myself a splitting migraine. I was able to get 10 hives of bees installed without a single sting. That is nothing short of miraculous but a fwe bee stings probably would have taken my mind off of the migraine.

I was moving and hauling boxes of dead outs as we call them. Those are the bees that didn't survive the winter. There were even a few boxes where the bees just vacated completely. No sign of them at all. Even the honey was gone though which is the interesting part. They ate and left. What rude house guests!

Now the real work begins. I have approximately 40 deeps and supers to clean. Those are the parts of the hive body that the bees live in. They are full of wax, hooney and dead bees. In all of the boxes I tore apart yesterday, I only found one nest of mice. (And yes, I did scream like a girl.) But only once. I have this phobia of having them run up into my pant legs. (Another story.)

This morning is amazingly peaceful. I am sitting here drinking my second cup of coffee. The sun is bright and gorgeous. Maybe spring really will make an appearance. My 2 parrots are upstairs hollering my name and any other words they can think of to get my attention. The two old Aussies are under the table at my feet and I am just thinking that life doesn't get much better than this. I am amazed what God has blessed me with. Far more than I deserve and far more than I ever hoped for.
