Well, I have been away from FatSecret for a few months. After surpassing my weight loss goal and maintaining a weight of 114-117lbs I learned to listen to my body as opposed to relying on numbers. I would occasionally add things to the diet calendar, but only out of curiosity as opposed to an obsessive compulsion.

Learning to listen to my body came in handy when it began to revolt against me. After 2 excruciating flare-ups of searing pain and vomiting, I rushed to a gastroenterologist. After less than 2 weeks of testing I have learned that I have Crohn's Disease... and probably have had it for the past several years.

I'm now looking at countless amounts of research online that talk about a low-residue diet. I'm sorry, the thought of eating white bread and white pasta and pretty much things with ZERO nutritional value does not work for me!

My goal is to use the diet calendar in a different way now and intertwine it with a record of how things are making me feel. This is going to be a long process of trial and error, but my goal will be to be able to manage this condition without medication. They are going to put me on Prednisone for 6 weeks and I am legitimately terrified that it is going to make me gain weight. It took me almost a year to lose the 15-25 pounds that I did when I started here and I just don't want to go through that again when I am a year away from getting married.

Just had to let all of that out. Happy to have some place to write because right now it is difficult to say what I want to say out loud. At least when I am typing I can use the backspace key ;)
