The other thing I doe with chickpeas (from a can) is rice and dry with a clean hand towel and let sit out a while till air dry. Then I put them in a baggie with just a little olive oil and pepper and a little salt. Spread out on a cookie sheet and bake 400 degrees for about 30-40 min. Let cook and you have nice crispy “nuts” to snack on or add to a salad. I keep roasted edamame, pistachios, pepitas and garbonzo nuts on hand all the time for salads.
