Finished my 10 mile race on Saturday strong. Actually improved on our pace compared to the 10K. I felt pretty proud of myself as miles 4-5-6 were steep rolling hills. I could tell that a lot of people hit a wall when they got to the hills, but the RB and I trucked right on up each hill without a trouble in the world. Weather was gorgeous and I was enjoying running in shorts rather than compression pants for once. It also served as a confidence boost towards completing the full marathon. I felt I could have made a second go of the 10 miles completed. I'm happy I still have about 6 weeks until the full marathon, but I am becoming more and more confident that I will find the mental strength to complete the full. I do run a mini (13.2) in 4 weeks. It happened to fall pretty much in line with my training runs anyway.
Husband is improving. Short term memory is still a little out of whack, but I think that will just get better each day. My weight has went down some more since my last weigh in, but I haven't logged it just yet. I did splurge and eat a mini blizzard today, not in celebration of the weight going down or anything crazy like that. I simply chose to eat one. After I ate one, I looked up the calories and was surprised they came in at 400 calories for the mini. Good thing I didn't opt for the small. The mini was satisfying though and I am 98% guilt free for the moment. I will adjust my dinner to include something leafy and green with a ton of water most likely.
It is so beautiful outside, even if the temp is a little crisp.
I'm thankful for the sunshine, another day on Earth with my husband, mini mint oreo blizzards, and the knowledge and self-restraint to work in a bad for you food that tastes so good into my RDI guilt-free.
