Triangle-Woman's Notizen, 30 Jun 21

I have always admired Jennifer Aniston. She has that beautiful "girl next door" quality and such a beautiful body.

Turns out, she recently admitted in an interview that she does Intermittent Fasting, having black coffee for breakfast and following a 16:8 fasting schedule.

WTH!!

Everybody was always interested in WHAT she ate and I remember reading about what she ate and trying to emulate it. If I could only be OBSESSED with food and continually worry and fret and manage micro and macro content and measure it and weigh it and track it for only FOREVER, maybe I could be a normal weight. I was not even going for thin. Just NORMAL.

This was never sustainable because obesity is the result of a hormonal imbalance.

That is why less than 5% of people keep off significant weight loss, and why there will never, ever be a "Biggest Loser" reunion. They are all obese again because "eat less, move more" did not treat the root cause.

When a pregnant women feels compelled to eat clay (a condition called "pica") we don't look at her and say, "Put your MIND to it. Just DON'T eat clay!!" "OMG, you are so lazy, just try HARDER to not eat clay!!" "Just measure and weigh your clay and exercise more and you will be fine."

We understand her hormones are out of balance and that when they come back into balance, the cravings will stop.

Yet, when I felt compelled to eat beyond what my body needed, (a condition called obesity) society looked at me and said, "Put your MIND to it. Just DON'T eat fats/carbs/too much food!!" "OMG, you are so lazy, just try HARDER to not eat fats/carbs/too much food!!" "Just measure and weigh your fats/carbs/food and exercise more and you will be fine." "Calories in, Calories Out!!"

I finally understand that I can't "just put my MIND to it." I will never out wit, out "think", out maneuver, out exercise, out micro manage my hormones and a damaged microbiome.

I can only go forward one day, one eating window, one fast at a time and allow my body to heal and eventually, given time, healthy food and a moderate amount of exercise, my body will come to its normal weight that (as a bonus) I now know how to maintain.

Cheers!

I am a Jennifer A fan also, I watch reruns of freinds daily. I never realized that when I was raising my kids when the show was running that these people were my age at that time. I thought they were younger- even tho they had kids on the show they were so unburdened. Now I watch and all I can think of is how hard it was for those 3 girls to maintain their looks then and they still have to do it. What a burden! To have to conform to society for money. Did you ever watch 3rd rock from the sun? Sally was a knock out! Have you seen her now? She's on Mom and she has gained alot of weight. She is a normal person with normal issues (weight gain caused by Lupus?)and really I don't think Hollywood is giving her the rolls she deserves. America puts too much emphasis on Looks and celebrity. I say- Lets be us! Lets be happy with how we look right now. I have a little joke I tell my freinds that are prone to vanity, "I look in the mirror everyday and say this is the best I'm going to look for the rest of my life". you know why? Because every day we lose cells. It's part of the aging process. Every day we get older. No amount of cosmetic surgery, Botox, etc is going to change that. We can have our face stretched back like Kathy Lee and Mary Tyler Moore but we are still going to have our saggy necks and we don't have the time or the resources to air brush our age spots out. Speaking of which, Jennifer A cannot have skin that flawless. She is in her 50's!

LOL. I don't want to be Jennifer A, just the best that me, myself and I can be. And being clinically obese is not the best I can be. The best that I can be has stopped counting micros and macros and stopped being miserable, guilty and angry about food and life. I have found what works for me...the "secret" to both losing weight and maintaining while enjoying all the things I love to the fullest. 5% of people who use CI/CO to lose a significant amount of weight are able maintain weight what they lose. It's a sick joke. And I have tried to get in on the sick joke my whole life. My only only point was that Jen A. also uses IF as part of her lifestyle to maintain her figure. I'm sure she does a whole lot more!! But why just publish her menus and exercise regimen when her menus are not going get you to where you need to be in the long run???

Oh, I get it. I just kind of went on a tangent of my own bc America is so hung up about looks and Skinny apparently equals beauty. Well, I use to be naturally thin and then it caught up to me and I am still the same person. We all need to do what we need to do to be healthy and if we give it our very best then that is all we can do.
