Triangle-Woman's Notizen, 30 Aug 21

So I know I'm far from my goal body, but I'm finding everyday is joy in the body that I have right this minute now that I finally have a "user's manual" that works for me.

But...I'm still learning, still reading, still researching, still tweaking which leads me down LOTS of rabbit holes.

Wanted to share a rabbit hole resource that I discovered recently that spoke to me:

Episode 52 of the "Intermittent Fasting Stories" interviewed a woman named Andrea Tollison.

Her story was intriguing because she did not have a lot of weight to lose, so losing the weight and then coming to a détente with her goal body was process that I found enlightening.

Truth be told, I don't want to "maintain" my weight loss. I just want to live my life and her experiences resonated loudly with me.

Turns out she also has a podcast called "Intuitively Intermittent" where by she explores melding the concepts of intuitive eating with intermittent fasting.

I know, I know.

She has been told by the Intuitive eating community to pretty much go blow because many in that community don't feel like the two concepts should be paired.

But...

Her experience is valuable to me and since IF is not a diet, but an eating pattern, you can pair it with whatever "diet" you wish and Intuitive eating is to my mind a "diet."

Maybe "diet" is not the correct word since it is so fraught with negative meaning and to most "a diet" means the idea of controlling what you eat to attain some end...but my understanding is that IE is WHAT you eat and WHAT you eat is your "diet" when it comes right down to it.

So I'm all for finding out what she knows, how things have worked for her and what nuggets I might take away for my IF tool box.

At this point, I do eat Intuitively.

Within my window, I ask myself what I want and I eat to the point of satiety in the deepest sense of the word.

When I close my window, I am satisfied so deeply, my body literally heaves a sigh of relief. That is when I know I'm done for the day.

So...find out what works for you.

Keep a growth mindset (intellect not body ;) and keep the faith (in yourself.)

LOL IE is specifically not a diet. The first 3 principles are about deprogramming from all the diet mindset. But it's not right for everyone, for sure.
