Back online with power returned after a ridiculously scary earthquake hit 30 hours ago. The aftershocks...they are getting to me. Our city is an hour and a half north of Fukushima Prefecture, and an hour south of Miyagi Prefecture(and Sendai, its capitol) where tsunamis have wiped out towns. My city is in tact - Japanese construction is amazing - but without power or traffic lights or gas stations or stores open - it was like walking around a zombie movie set.
We are scrambling to see what we have in way of provisions, and fortunately, I went shopping just before. My diet may go all over the place in the coming week, but so far, I have been forcing myself to pick as healthy as possible.
I am safe and scared for my friends and coworkers. Gah - shaken AND stirred!

PS just read that Japan gov might be getting iodine tablets out to people in case of radiation exposure - maybe see if you can get some?

Thank you. =) And yeah - the pills might get around, but we've also been advised to eat seaweed (which every household has sheets of, dried, for cooking, including mine) because it is a natural source of it. So we will be taking some. Fukushima is 39 miles south, as the crow flies, over the mountain range. Better safe than sorry...and the tremors keep coming. It is 8:40am on Sunday morning here, and there have been 4 little and 2 big ones just since 8.
