I haven't weighed myself in a few days. My pants are all looser, though, so I'm hoping for a good number when I step on there tomorrow. I'm only a couple of pounds away from my first mini-goal of 205. I can't wait to get below 200! Hmmm... what else is there to say? I have been considering switching diet plans to something more vegetarian than South Beach, for many reasons, one of which is I haven't had much energy on this diet. I think it's all the meat and dairy that I consume.

I've been loosely following the Eat for Health principles (from what Ive read online, I havent been able to bring myself to pay almost $40 for the book set, waiting till I can find it used for a good price or when my library gets it). I will email you a link to the food pyramid. Eat for Health is the follow-up to Eat to Live. The basic idea is that you try to eat as many high-nutrient foods as possible. Instead of keeping your points down, you try to get your points UP. I start the day with a green smoothie (banana, kiwi, pineapple, avocado, spinach, coconut water--sounds gross but I'm a convert) and I am getting my veggie consumption up and my meat and dairy down. I feel amazing. I never thought I could possibly be full without dairy and lots of protein but it's really working for me. I will send you a message with a link.

South Beach requires lots of veggies. I eat a vegetarian lifestyle a lot of the time (but I do eat fish) and thats exactly WHY I like South Beach and why it works for me.

P.S. It is hard to know when your plan is working for you when you aren't true to it. You mentioned having chicken salad sandwich at Chick Filet but you entered fish and broccoli for your meal in your food diary. Be true to your food diary and to the plan and you'll see the results you're looking for. You are doing amazing considering you aren't really following the plan. Imagine how much better you'd be doing if you did follow it. wow.

I have 100% been true to the plan, I usually will record my food journal on here before I actually eat, and the chic-fil-a thing was last second, and I don't have a computer at home. I have been following phase 2 to a T according to the first book. I'm not trying to be so self-defensive, but I really think I've been following the plan... :-(

I only think you need to up your veggie intake and eat less eggs and cheese. I think you're doing great considering everything. Your clothes are fitting loser, you've lost 8 pounds on two weeks..sounds like you're doing great, so I'm not sure why you want to change anything. I think if you up your veggie intake you'll see even more results. No need for sad faces, you should be dancing on the ceiling!

oh, and your calorie consumption is very low. That could be why you feel a lack of energy. You can easily up your caloric intake by adding in a tablespoon of natural peanut butter and a slice of apple! There are great ways to up your calories other than dairy and meat. I agree, I think you need less of those things and simply up your calories by adding some other goodies. Try drinking some low sodium V8 too. Almonds and a glass of water are a good pick me up. You are doing great so don't start doubting yourself at all. You're so close to your goal and wow..you'll be in the 100's soon!

My starting weight was close to 200lbs....so I know how you are feeling. Twenty pounds came off with a moderate amount of work...and I know you can do it too! Here's some tips: - Drink ONLY water...no juice, or pop (even diet pop has tonnes of sodium...so it will cause bloating) - youg, hemp hearts (my lifesaver), and fruit in the am - Salads and soup for lunch (use any dressing you want...and toppings too! Getting the wheat out of your diet eg. bread, will help you drop the pounds - 3 glasses of water when you get up If you follow some of these simple rules the weight will start coming off! It did for me....and I'm going for 15more :D Good luck!
