YAY! I'm doin the Happy Dance! I love getting on the scale & seeing good weight loss. According to my calculations on http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/ , my current BMI=45.17 & my BMR=1783.05. My BMI needs to get down to 40 so I can have my hip replaced. At least, I think that's the # the Dr gaid. Then according to http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/harris-benedict-equation/, my daily maintenance calorie intake=2139.66 (by multiplying my BMR by 1.2). ~ BUT, I want to lose weight, so I lower my caloric intake by 500 to 1000, which=between 1139.66 & 1639.66. I've been trying to stay under 1200 calories per day, & am barely losing weight. But at least I am losing. These calculations don't consider my very hypoactive thyroid, which makes a huge difference in my metabolic rate. But, at least it lets me know that my 1200 calories falls within their limits, so I'm not abusing my body. That's what I needed to know, since my body has trouble enough without making more. ~ WOW, now I'm starting to sound like King Keld & Dairy King, LOL!
