Quick question:
Everyone: What do y'all do to work out when it is raining and cold outside?
Almost impossible for me to be out golfing, running or biking?
I'm not too crazy to lift weights & clean my garage since I prefer nature & scenic views LoL
Please help with some great ideas.. TIA

Thanks @Kaylinrenee ~ I'll go for some great movies (Kiera Knightley, Brad Pitt, Morgan Freeman & Liam Neeson, Eva Green etc) while on a stationery bike.

don't be soft get a rain coat you won't melt lol. my mentality is always if I have to work outside in the rain for work I might as well do something I enjoy outside in the rain when I'm off. but if it's really bad throw your bike on a trianer and do some intervals.

I do a youtube workout. Like a body-weight based hiit class with no jumping. Or a stretch class (slow movements were made for rainy days). Or put on a raincoat if it’s not raining too hard and go for a very brisk run.

It doesn't rain very often in SoCal, so I get excited about being able to wear one of my seldom-used trench coats and pretty umbrellas. Unless it's super windy and raining sideways, I go for walks. Otherwise, I'll put on some fun music and dance in my living room.

I'm doing a Winter Warrior challenge in NH for the Mo. of January. We've had all kinds of weather! In the 50's, below freezing, rain, sleet, snow. I am walking at least a mile a day 'outside' (that's the challenge). I'm with Otb123, you won't melt! Dress appropriately, layers, waterproof, hats, mittens, boots, umbrella (and even head lamps and reflective material for at night) and you can walk anywhere!

There's a saying that there's no bad weather, only bad clothing. I live in Wyoming, so if I only went out in good weather, I'd be stuck inside all winter...and it's a long winter here. I did get a gym membership and use the treadmill, but I try to get outside. When I use the gym, I find the thought that I'm getting in better shape for the things I love to do to be motivating

If it's a summer rain I'm not bothered, will still bike but need the right glasses for sure. In cold winter rain, forget it, if the ground is wet I'm ok on gravel but not paved roads. Also if the ground is frozen, that's great but as it thaws it gets muddy and sticky, but that won't deter me. Haha so many things to consider! I'll go to gym for equipment and use Elliptical and also lap swim. And it's nice for me to be around other people. I know a lot of people who use Zywft on a bike trainer, they do solo and group rides. Zwyft is real popular with cyclists in winter who like training programs.

I have a treadmill that I use if it's pouring. If I'm meeting with my running group and it's raining, we'll still run so long as it's not thundering/lightning.

The mall where I live opens early for mall walkers. Most people walk, some power walk, some alternate between a walk and a jog. Sometimes I park on a side street (free parking) near the city parking deck and run up the stairs in the stairwells and down the parking garage levels. I often wish I could roller skate or ice skate those often have indoor facilities. I have a stationary bike but get bored fast unless I move it to face the tv.

I have a small trampoline and can jump while watching TV or listening to music/podcast. It's quiet and easy! Throw in some hand weights and you have a full body workout!!

I use fitness blender on YouTube when I can not get outside. The idea is to just keep moving!!!

I used to use a plastic aerobics stepper routine. You could look out a window, watch a nature video or listen to some music. it's great for cardiovascular exercise.

That's what the treadclimber is for. But there's also tons of videos on YouTube, from Yoga to HIIT videos.

I have a floor and wall routine stretches that I’ll throw in with my cardio sometimes, mostly working thigh, ab, and back muscle groups. If you do them back to back and without too much rest you can still get your heart rate up. It’s inexpensive and you can plant yourself in front of a window.

I use cardio and/ or strength training videos, I have a ton of them! Leslie Sansone videos are really good if you don't like to dance. And great for almost any level!
