Really encouraged so far. the food intake is going well...making better choices than in the past. recording everything here makes it super easy to stay on track ('cause i certainly don't want to have to record my binges, so i just don't eat that stuff!) exercise is going well too but is definitely the hardest part for me. i am SO out of shape. slow and steady wins the race, right? let's do this!

Slow and steady does indeed win the race for the long term! When I started back at the gym in February of this year I could barely manage to stay on the treadmill at 3.0 mph for 15 minutes... now I am doing a respectable 5.5 for half of my 30 minute cardio, and I can walk 5 miles with no problems! Try to find something you enjoy... there are so many different ways to torture yourself... LOL just kidding but there are more options than treadmills, ellipticals (if you cruise through some of my recent journals you'll find my musings about "Mr. E" and his evil sidekick "Mr. Scales"), etc. I know So. Cal has to have plenty of resources right? ONWARD!
