I changed my diet program from Atkins to my own and it freed me to do some experimentation. I still love the basic Atkins concept and would encourage people to stick with it as written. What is working for me right now is occasional IF, Warrior, 4 hour diet and leptin resistance eating. I feel like it is pretty clean eating. Just for today, I think I understand that my extremely damaged metabolism likes a bit of variety. And if I thought losing weight was difficult pre-menopause, oh dear. It is sooo much more difficult now.
When I complain to myself about not losing quickly enough, and when I read the frequent comments of others along the same lines, I am reminded of a time when I did MEDIFAST, back when it was 5 pkts/day at 90 cals and 4 G carb each pkt. (450 cal and 20 carb for the day) I did not ever cheat and lost an average of 3.6lbs/wk over 16 weeks while training for and running my first ever 10K. So, how can I expect to lose anything close to that since I am enjoying a wide variety of foods, not excercising 2 hours a day and am 15 years older? It's so silly of me.
Well, I wrote this as a reminder for myself, for the next time I think things are going too slowly.
Oh, and I got to order the Sunday NEW YORK TIMES delivered to my door as my reward for 40 lbs. So excited for that this weekend. Groovy!
