Day 7: Yesterday was great for me fitness-wise. Walked for 30 mins or so during the day (briskly) and then spent 40 mins on the elliptical. I can tell I'm getting fitter because I went so much farther in 40 mins this time than I went in 40 mins 2-3 days ago. Went 4.7 miles and burnt 617 calories yesterday!!

I gave in to temptation and weighed myself yesterday, and lets just say I was very pleased with what I saw. I'm not recording it as an official weigh in on this site yet because I want to do that only once every 7 days. I'm more motivated than ever before....I'm just tired TIRED TIRED of being overweight!!

I plan on just going for a walk and doing some light home exercises today (my rest day...I deserve it!).

Did you change anything with you food diet? Or did you just start exercising more? I completely agree with you I am so tired of being over weight also!

In my opinion, its mostly a mental thing. I look at my boss for inspiration (read one of my posts for this story)and some other guys that I know that are well into their 50s but are in much better shape than me. Its become like my obssession and hobby all rolled into one. Just to see what my body would look like in peak physical condition. I installed the mobile version of this site on my phone. It counts my calories consumed and burned each day. From another site on the web, I got estimates of how many grams of carbs,fat and protein I need each day to reach my goal weight and I make sure I keep my food intake within those limits. Plus Im also pushing myself harder at the gym. Going six times a week. 3 days gym - 1 rest day - 3 days gym. Its only been a week since I started but its going very well so far. Trying to eat more meals a day but smaller portions and eating supper well before I go to bed. And I never skip breakfast!!
