It's a difficult journey, I get really hungry at times, but try and get past it. I know in time it will pass. time goes by so quickly that I try and look at it like this; if I had just done it sooner, the last few months have gone by so fast that I could be 10 pounds lighter and be happier than I am today. I am losing weight for myself, so I can enjoy the things in life I want to do before it's over.

Sounds like you're doing good! All of those reasons are well worth it. You can do this! I can't lie there were times when I was hungry as well. Not to throw unwanted advice at you. But the more protein the better usually. It will keep you fuller longer! Good fortune to you moving forward.

KTillack, you have lost almost 15 pounds in 15 days! That's a pound a day 😲. Such amazing progress. Pat yourself on the back. This journey is a long and hard one, no doubt in that. You probably noticed by now that hunger pangs eventually pass. Once I understood this I stopped feeling like I had to do something about them as soon as they appeared. I agree with Erika and Joe, protein - but also fat - will keep you going longer, both in sustained energy and lack of hunger. Experiment as you take this journey and find out what works best for you. There are wildly conflicting notions out there about the "best" or "most healthy" diet. Best wishes!

KT-try bone broth to help with the hunger. It worked for me. Also drink 8-16 oz of water frequently. Best wishes on your journey. You will be so happy to invest in your health. It’s amazing how everything is easier when you are at a healthy body comp. At least as we get older that seems to be holding true. Remember how important you are!

@Jax6028, I keep my calorie deficit low (1700), and don't count any activity into my deficit. It's hard but my body feels like it's slowly adjusting to the lower calories.

KT - I scrolled past this again and saw that you mentioned 1700 calories a day. I did the same thing when I started by cutting extreme like that. All I'd say is be careful because that's how people burn themselves out because they feel like they're starving. Looking back I wish I would've went down gradually because it was brutal. I know exactly what you're going through. Again you didn't ask but I want to say this. At your current weigh you could gradually cut calories and feel a lot better. Like right now even at 2500 calories a day you could still be losing without being so hungry. I know the losses would take longer. But it wouldn't be as extreme as going from whatever you were eating a day to 1700. Another thing with cutting calories in a extreme fashion. You have to be careful not to lose to quickly because then you raise the chances of having loose skin. Which could happen no matter what but we don't want to help it. Which is why I mentored protein initially. Not just for the fact that it keeps you fuller longer. But it also is crucial in body recomp! Just some food for thought.
