How's the 21 day fix going? Still a bit puzzling -- and you really need to plan your day! Monday - Thursday, I have a shake for supper (subject to change next week, as will have Hello Fresh meals for supper except one night). Friday - Sunday, I eat real meals, watching portion control, with 1 of those days a cheat meal. Yeah, 1 meal - usually dinner. AND I am NOT starving!!! Even hubby said he was not starving -- though he is not doing the plan in full, I will accept any excitement I can from him regarding portion control and food.

What the plan says I should have:
(*1/2 cup = 1 serving of veggies OR what can fit in the green container)

I'm on day 9

Green - 4 - Veggies
Purple - 3 - Fruit
Red - 4 - Protein
Yellow - 3 - Carbs/Starchs
Blue - 1 - Healthy fats
Orange - 1 - Seeds/Dressings
tsp - 4 - oils

Today, I had my FAV recipe for breakfast so far-- quick and easy and super yummy!
Breakfast - Healthy French Toast with strawberries
Snack - GoPicnic Superbutter with multi-grain crackers and nut mixture (all pre-portioned)
Lunch - Last of the "Beef Stew with Sweet Potatoes" - which I used Deer vs Beef. with an apple, .5 c cucumbers, and .5 c tomatoes
Snack - grapefruit and carrot
Supper - Shake with frozen peaches and frozen blackberries
Water goal: 121fl oz

So how does that really calculate up to fixate - 21 day fix?
3.5 green
3.5 purple
4 red
2.5 yellow
1 blue
1 orange
3.5 tsp

It's actually more challenging that you think it would be. At least with the recipes in the cookbook, it's a little finigling. Sometimes I'm over, sometimes I'm under. The point is, I am trying. Tried the Tuna Salad recipe yesterday - interesting taste - not your gramma's tuna salad either -- there is no mayo to it. It has fresh tarragon, bell pepper and dijon mustard instead. Really good -- and a LARGE portion -- my poor English Muffin was lost under all that! Ended up having an open face sandwich!

It's raining here again -- thanks to the storm that came through Mexico. Just when we were starting to dry out again (thinking french drain might actually get installed sometime this fall......). I've been to one side of the flood area, and outside of limbs off of trees and by the roadside, I haven't really seen any damage...however, I know it's still out there, as some friends of mine are working on it and are away from their homes for undetermined amount of time. It's been heart warming to see how much assistance has come from all over. Places that don't normally flood, flooded. My travels do not intend to bring me to the worst places in our state until next spring.

Gotta get with it today! Have a fabulous day!

Do you like 21 day fix? How are the workouts?

I've been debating buying the 21 day fix, so I'm glad to hear you're doing well. I like the idea of the containers but it's a commitment with the prep. I hope to keep hearing that you're doing well with it. :)

Sadly, I gave up after a week. It was too much prep work with working full time and too little kids and a husband.

Rockiesfan, mars2kids, slsmitty -- I do like it. It reminds me of the concept of Hello Fresh and all those other plans out there -- it's eating healthy. Yes, it can be time consuming, however, I find that using the recipes vs coming up with things on my own, is better for me. True we don't have kids running around. True some of the recipes take time (there is no fast way to cook Steel Cut Oatmeal) and yes, you will get familiar with your pots and pans, spirces, and grocery shopping in a different kind of way. I rarely actually use the containers -- unless it's something I've come up with on my own. I didn't purchase the workout portion, just the containers and the recipe book. My cousin does have the workouts, and she loves them. I figure I have the elliptical, walking the dog, and the Skimble app on my phone to keep me busy. Plus I have P90x, Turbo Jam and Turbofire if I get bored with Skimble. The portion control aspect was a huge part of my issue. I was eating healthy, but eating a lot of healthy and not watching my portions. This system is helping me grasp size matters. If you are interested in trying it, chat with my cousin Susan (she just updated her photos showing her husband in the profile picture) http://www.teambeachbody.com/en_US/member/sn/susanberry3 Thanks!
