So I googled. It’s actually Russian? Or no? I’m slightly confused but want to make this. Please tell me what you put in yours. 😋😘

Thanks, guys! So yes, this is a Russian side dish, but it’s literally called “Korean salad”. I like to buy it from the Russian deli or order it at Russian restaurants because it’s so flavorful and goes with everything, but it’s so expensive, so I decided to try my hand at making my own.

I julienned them with a julienne peeler. I got the OXO julienne peeler from Amazon for $10 and it works really well. I julienned a bag of carrots and added salt, fresh ground black pepper, coriander, honey, pepper flakes, fresh garlic, and white vinegar to the mix. Then I heat up a little olive oil in a pan and when it got hot, I poured it over the mixture and then mixed again. Once cooled, I put in a container and put in the fridge because this is served cold. You can Google recipes for exact measurements, but I eye balled everything. I hiiighly recommend this, it’s soooo good!

Thank You for the recipe! Funny there is a Korean salad in Russian gastronomy —we have a Russian salad in Spain! Which of course is not Russian.

Eva, really? That’s interesting! What’s in your Russian salad? I’m going to take a wild guess and say it has mayonnaise in it, lol. Russians LOVE mixing mayo into things and calling it a salad.
