Something super duper humbling just happened. I saw my doc and she told me that the results from my latest bloodwork weren't awesome. First time ever. My cholesterol was elevated and my thyroid levels were off. She told me to follow a Mediterranean diet, bring back more cardio, and gave me a script for a thyroid ultrasound. I blame cheese on this. Dang!

Uh oh, feel better!!! ❤️‍🩹 I hope the Mediterranean diet helps! If this is not what helps with your cholesterol, don’t give up…I hope this diet change works though!!! If not, I hope your doctor finds something that does work; whether it’s food-related or not!

Hi friends. Thank you for the sweet messages. Sorry I didn’t have time to respond and update. The thyroid ultrasound showed nodules that were benign, which is so awesome!! Big relief there. Not sure if I need any thyroid meds yet, but am due to see my doc next week and discuss. The results from the second round of blood work should be ready soon, but I’m so scared that they’ll be the same as the last time (from when she first took my blood in December and discovered the cholesterol issues). In the meantime I’m focused on eating a diet that’s lower in fat and lower in processed foods.

Super, LOL!! Just as I was really starting to enjoy the thiccer, stronger me. I have been so ultra focused on CICO and protein, that I’ve become way too dependent on convenience foods. And as far as my training goes, I thought lifting heavy would get me my dream body, but was no longer doing anything to support my endurance and flexibility, so one round of yoga the other day had me huffing and puffing. I need to get back to a more nutrition-focused mindset and get my weight down about 15 lbs. Gotta go from thiccmami to fitmami

Yea now that I think about it the only times I eat process foods is when I get Big Macs or pizza, And preworkouts, and deserts, and sometimes burritos I bring for lunch just cuz it’s easy n fast. Otherwise I eat mostly foods I cook. I grew up on cooked meals so that’s always two of my meals for the day.
