Road trip yesterday to the Mighty Mac (Mackinac Bridge connecting the Lower Peninsula to the Upper Peninsula here in Michigan). I stopped for lunch over the bridge in St. Ignace (I had the walleye), to a couple of lighthouses, a smoked fish store (I bought a TON, it freezes well and it's a third of the price up there as down here), then to buy Mackinac Island fudge and ice cream cones in Mackinaw City. The trip was with my family as an early birthday celebration, I will be 50 this month. A long day, it is 4 hours up there and 4 hours back, 5 hours spent sightseeing, but I did get in my steps and I didn't overeat. That's me in the last pic, third from the right. Thank you for the support and birthday wishes! I went overboard on the smoked fish, I spent two hours dividing up 4 pounds of whitefish, 5 pounds of salmon, and 5 pounds of lake trout into manageable portions and vacuum sealing them for the freezer. I bought more fudge than I will eat too, my mom will enjoy that. The trip was so much fun, I wish we would have had time to take the ferry to Mackinac Island and spend a night. It was pretty busy up there because of the holiday weekend.

Catfish— my daughter moved to Muskegon a couple of years ago. Michigan is so beautiful but not crazy about the weather.. Mackinaw Island is on my to do list.

I just visited, first time, really loved the bike ride around the Island! Much nicer than I thought, I think Michigan is one of America's best kept secrets.

I am aiming to be more healthy at age 50 than at any other time in life. I have always been heavy, the heaviest kid in my high school class of 200 kids. When I graduated at age 17 I weighed 225 pounds. My highest weight was 312 pounds, I have been at this weight loss challenge for a lifetime! Finally getting to a major goal, it makes me so happy!
