Fritzy 22's Notizen, 16 Jul 24

Since I stepped on the scale after avoiding it for about 3 months and seeing a big gain, I've stuck to my plan for the most part. I've had some trouble with IF and not eating after about 2pm and there have been days when I'll get a tablespoon of pumpkin seeds or a string cheese, even toasted half an English muffin. But late yesterday afternoon I wanted ice cream. Kept trying to talk myself out of it but finally, around 4pm I got in the car and drove to my little town together a scoop of ice cream. I went there 3 or 4 times while my house was for sale and I had to go out for an hour or so while the house was being shown. It had been a,month at least. I got there and saw no cars in the parking lot and thought maybe there were closed on Mondays. Then I saw the sign on the door that said "Permanently Closed". I thought maybe that meant I shouldn't have ice cream! But I still stopped on my way home at the small grocery store. Not one parking space so I just went home.

Today is another day though and I am going to Costco where they have wonderful ice cream sundaes!

I've been giving away dozens and dozens of peaches from my tree. Tere are still plenty for me and the deer. I've thought about making a peach cobbler but so far I've just been eating the peaches.

I'm enjoying being able to sleep in the much cooler guest room, but one of the cats stays in the master bedroom, laying on the floor not understanding why the bed isn't there. I plan on getting a king size bed in a couple months when the master bedroom is comfortable again once the weather cools down.

Try freezing some of your peaches and getting some Greek yogurt. Put a cup of frozen peaches and 2/3 cup yogurt in a blender and make a smoothie. I have found this to be a great alternative to ice cream. You can add a teaspoon of cinnamon and a teaspoon of honey for added sweetness if needed.

Maybe you need to change your IF timeline. I go from 6am-6pm most days. So do consistent half day fast. On some days I don't start eating until 8am and others at noon. So the time I start eating varies but I always stop eating by 6pm. I don't know what time you start eating but since it seems like you are up a bit later maybe alter your time line. I wish you well on your journey and that housing situation.

Thanks LeeAnn, I actually smoothies quite often. I prefer berries in smoothie and a have a bag of frozen triple berry blend in the freezer. I have lots of Links Triple S to yogurt and will add to smoothies at times. I get tired of leaches after about 2 weeks. They are good though!

Thanks Berry Well! Right now I am not worrying to much about IF. I usually can stay within my calorie allowance (not today!) I went off track for nearly 3 months so am working to gradually getting back to my desired WOE. I prefer IF eating from whenever I wake up and get my first cup of coffee, usually between 4:30-6am until about 2pm. I like going to sleep with a some what empty stomach. Right now I'm just taking small steps to get back to my preferred normal! I love all the suggestions and ideas!

Kat, I had to Google peach granita. I picked enough peaches for a pie or cobbler. Store bought pie crust but I actually prefer a cobbler. I found a recipe using half of the Pillsbury crust cut into pieces for the top of the cobbler. I may try that. Hopefully it will freeze after I eat a piece of it. I could also flake out and just keep eating peaches! I've given more away today and not even the deer will be able to get to the ones that are left

Well Fritz, I think that very well may have been a sign..😘 Everything in moderation so I'm sure you will go easy on the Costco sundaes. I like Magpiezoe recipe. I'll have to try that. Glad you are able to sleep. It's hard here cuz it's so humid.

Don’t forget about freezing grapes for snacks. Best thing ever for hot days.😇

Thanks Diana! I found a recipe for peach cobbler using Pillsbury pie crust , cut into pieces for the top. Per the recipe one serving is 316 calories. 6 servings total. I found a generic peach cobbler in the data base and 1 1/2 servings is exactly 316 calories. I logged it for tomorrow. We'll see if I actually it tomorrow morning. I also bought a rotisserie chicken and am hearing with Bobby and the cats. I don't like dark meat and they do. Bought a big bag of Brussels sprouts and find them easy to cook in the air fryer. And frozen shrimp. I read they are good in the air fryer. So it's not all about ice cream. Today was nice, maybe it got to 90. One of my cats, Marco, doesn't understand why there is no bed in the master bedroom any more. There were lots of tasty and detailed suggestions for peaches and yogurt, etc

Thanks Bananas! I remember the frozen grapes. I love them on road trips. I'll see if there are any at the farmer's market this week.

I love all these comments and just wanted to add one more about Brussels sprouts. I keep a bag of crotons on hand. When I still feel hungry, I put a few in the microwave with a little water. I add garlic and a little low fat butter. Yummy and filling and has fiber! Roasted Brussels sprouts are delicious too! Just takes longer to make. 😊

Thanks John 10251! Somehow I missed your comment. I think it's great you can have ice cream in the house and be able to resist it or just have a little bit. However much ice cream is in the house I will eat! That's why I try to go out a get a scoop or er even a Costco sundae

Well, great . . . Just after I commented about Brussel sprouts, our son calls. We had eaten dinner, so just met him at Culver’s. Of course, had a mini concrete with Heath. Put me over my calories for the day. 😔. I justified by being active today with walking and working outside, so maybe I broke even. 🤷‍♀️. Sorry, I was just trying to be supportive and provide helpful suggestions. But, I am not the perfect example.

Thanks Mkmcdowell! My mom used to boil or steam Brussels sprouts when I was a kid and pour a cheese sauce over them. She didn't didn't make them often because my sisters and I hated them. I would gag just smelling them. As an adult in my late 40's or early 50's I decided to try them again. I cut them in half and cooked in a skillet with a little olive oil and about 3 or 4 slices of bacon. It took a couple times, but I learned to love them! But only if they are browned, either on the stove, roasted in the oven or now in an air fryer. I also like them in a stir fry. I need to get my electric wok out. If I stir fry brussels sprouts, asparagus, and mushrooms I can get about 10 grams of protein. Adding spinach makes it even better

Mkmcdowell. I never heard of Culver's or a mini concrete. Had to google it. Seems kind of like a blizzard at Dairy Queen. I always ask for pieces of Heath bar!
