Good Job pet momma! It's really tough to say no, but it's the right answer. I know that when Bella was loosing wt. it was difficult at first. Just like humans as they feel better they're more active and they burn more calories.

Sounds like a good plan to help Marco. I hate this heat too.

Sorry about Marco's weight I lost my cat last year to diabetes he was 13 years old and a our baby. He had the opposite problem he could not gain weight when he first was diagnosed he was 20 pounds and at the end he was 10.6 pounds, it is the diabetes that causes his weight problems, so give him some extra cuddles.

Wow I don't know what I would do if there were fires all the time. Hang in there!

Thanks SLYONE 22! I'm hoping the vet will call me today. She was gone the other day when I picked Marco up after he spent the day there for the glucose curve. I remember a year ago when he had his last curve done she had said it was perfect. At that time he was getting 6 units of insulin twice a day. Maybe because things were so good they waited a whole year to have him in again. I'm trying to understand how things got so bad. He's eating the same and hasn't gained much weight. It's hard to understand how 3 cats eating the same amount of food have such different weights. 2 cats are normal at just under 11 pounds while Marco is so overweight. None of them so much beside sleep most of the day. Sometimes they get up to sit on the window sill watching the birds but not for long.

Thanks Morticia! At least we're through July which is typically the hottest month of the year. But the first week of August is forecast to be hot.

Thanks GolfGirl! Marco is 10. I think he was first diagnosed in early 2021. The vet said he could live a normal life with treatment. He seems to feel okay.. He is a big cat. 14-15 pounds would probably be a good weight for him. The other 2 cats look tiny next to him.

Thanks Abba! It's really difficult knowing at any time a fire could start that would mean evacuation. I get so stressed out, even when there's a nice breeze I think how wind makes a fire move faster. I won't stopped worrying until the rainy season starts, usually October
