I just read about his visit to the vet and that is scary so happy he is home I used the type of insulin that came in a pen so it was metered my kitty was on 1 unit. Give him an extra scratch behind the ears from me. Get some rest.

Thanks Morticia! It was really a scary experience. I'm grateful for all the prayers. He nearly died. The vet sent home detailed instructions for him and wrote "Marco was seen today for low blood sugar that resulted in seizure and open mouth breathing". Anyone with cats know they never pant or breathe from the mouth.

Thanks Dazey! I'm really confused about things. Over a week ago his glucose numbers were so high high normal vet increased his insulin dosage. But then when the vet saw him Saturday his glucose numbers were so low that he almost died and that vet said it was due to too much insulin. Hopefully, I'll calm down about this once I start monitoring him at home. I just hope I'll be able to get a drop of blood from him to do the test. Jot looking forward to that, but it has to be done.

Yikes!! That is confusing. Sorry about that. How on earth do you get a drop of blood from him?? I have a hard enough time giving my cat revolution!! 😂

Dazey, From what I understand There's a vein inside the tip of his ear to stick for the blood.

We got our cat a Libre 2 sensor and did not have to draw blood. Our vet let us borrow a reader when we first started monitoring his glucose. Maybe an option for you.

I hope he handles that well!! 😸

Thanks Golfgirl- I looked up the Lines 2 sensor and the vet didn't mention anything but what I ordered and should receive tomorrow. I read the sensor worked something like 14 days. Did you have to keep replacing it? I don't know how often I'll need to check Marcos numbers but will likely do it at least a couple times a week until I feel he's well regulated.
