I have lost my way and taken too many liberties. Need to go back on Induction and be really strict and regain focus. Too much going on at work - layoffs, illness, etc. Those of us left behind are thankful for jobs - but really under a lot of pressure. I have been reaching for anything close to put in my mouth -pure stress eating. So I need to plan better and have "my food" and water with me at all times.

Hey, I am a newbie to this site, but I understand how you feel. However, I would like to say if you don;t take the time to take care of yourself, who will. You need to remember that you too are deserving of having a healthy lifestyle, so you can meet the needs that are forced on you. You can meet the challenges of work. Try a short walk at lunch or breaks, it really is a stress releaser.

You're not too far off track, although I can't tell what's been going on for dinner. Still, it's great that you're recognizing what's happening and part of the reason for it. The stress at work may be out of your control, so the only thing you can do is adjust your own reactions and mind-set. Easier said, than done, I know. You've had success, so I'm sure you'll be able to re-focus and get back to where you want to be. Planning better sounds great; that, and getting back to logging all foods for all meals, should help you along. You know you got this!

When my life is totally out of control 'stress-wise' ... being in control of my eating is one way to feel energized. Not depleted. Good healthy eating, exercise, rest... all great ways to combat the stress of the day. My thoughts are with you regarding your work situation, as I know others ... and I get the 'stressful' part. Time to re-prioritize your energy ... and starting with making you a number one priority... is key. Much Love.

Wish I could wave a magic wand and relieve all your stress...but unfortunately, life doesn't work that way. I agree with Paula that when things are spinning out of control, I look for things that I can control and eating is one of them. As you well know, it takes just a little planning and time to pack those "good carb" snacks and water to take to work and how much better you will feel when you know that you aren't compromising your success so far with outside stressors. I will say a little prayer that things calm down a bit for you. You have so many of us in your corner. Take some comfort in that and not in "unhealthy" choices. Big HUG:)

I am glad you still have your job! I know how that feels, having everyone on edge...just waiting for who knows what, & I think that is the hardest part, the fear of the unknown & so much that you can not control...sigh...it is a lot to deal with. Learning new ways to deal with stress is part of this WOE/WOL. It is really good that you know how you react, stopping the cycle is the goal, change is good!! Planning will help, it helps me & I have found that excercise really helps with stress & plus helps keep your true goals first in mind. Take good care of you!

In any case - 193 looked very good on the scale this morning. Come too far to drop the ball. So going into the weekend refocused and energized. Looking forward to some ME TIME! Stress at work will drive you crazy, and affect your health in a number of ways. I know that when we had lay-offs at my job they were not well handled by the upper administration -- for one thing, they were announced a week ahead, causing all of us a lot of stress. When I knew that my job was safe, and we'd figured out who would be doing what to replace the people who'd been laid off (teaching extra classes), the first thing that happened to me was that I came down with the flu. Not fun. One chap had a heart attack from the stress of waiting, and got a lay-off letter while he was at home recuperating.
