SCORE!!!
2 year journey capped by a single digit body fat percentage! I don't think I've had single digit body fat since I had single digit age!
Approximately 37% to measured 24.5% took about a year... strict keto for 3 months on then 3 months off (but still low carb) through a few cycles... increased walking. Started leaving the car at home and getting groceries and such on foot. Started lifting weights a couple times a week.
The next phase I got more serious because I was looking a little "skinnyfat". Started lifting heavy weights every second day. Quit using the elevator (I live on the 12th floor). Started to use my bicycle as actual transportation on weekends.
I tracked my macros throughout. I pretty much moved into the mindset that plants are what real food eats... that was the kicker that helped me hit my "sub 10" mark. I do eat some leaves and I swear by my large flake oats in the morning for the fiber that my otherwise carnivorous diet can't provide.
The numbers certainly support me... 16.5 pounds more muscle and 31 less pounds of fat in about the last 7 months. I'm no teenager with loads of testosterone either... I'm a 50 year old man. If I can do this so can you!
LMAO now's where I take a 2 week break (well less strict on the food choices) to enjoy the abundant x-mas treats and cheer. I don't intend to completely let go but I do believe I will welcome the warm embrace of beer and potato chips this evening! :-D
I guess the only resolution I need to make for January is to remain under 10%.
