i was able to take all those holiday pounds off! thank godness! having a stressful week at times. my oven is now broken! when you are on a WOE and your oven breaks, it becomes prophetic! i am limited to stove top only and a tiny toaster oven, for a family of 7!!!!....i am seriously thinking of buying a bigger countertop oven anyway, but was not planning on this to happen right now! so now i am in the conundrum of ...do i spend 200 bucks to fix it (it is 13 yrs old and is very used!!!) or do i (gulp) buy a new oven which will cost 500-600 bucks!!! gives me a migraine just thinking about it. i hate having to worry about money, and i have a major problem with using up all the money i have! hubby is working on the solution, thank god for him! i become so overwhelmed that i am actually in a paralyzed state of indecision! oh well...."deep slow breaths"....if a broken oven is my only huge problem i think i need to optimistically bear that cross! looks like more take out for the kids, and more salads and grilled meats (in 0 degree weather)for hubby and I. at least my coffee pot is going strong LOL....and for the next 2 days i am working 12 hour nights and usually don't cook anyway during those days!

sometimes people upgrade at christmas to a new stove, so perhaps looking on Craigslist or something like that for a 'gently' used one??? just a thought... I too lived without an oven - for 10 years! Makes me laugh now, but it wasn't funny then. Good luck figuring it out! Lifting your family in prayer...blessings over your mailbox! Maybe you'll get a surprise gift or something. - OH and GREAT JOB on getting back in control from the holiday splurges!!!!

Glad to see that you got that holiday weight off and are once again at goal....good for you! Am sorry to hear about the added stress of no oven...I lived with out a real stove and oven for many years and I can attest that it is absolutely no fun....I became quite the "electric skillet" and "crockpot" chef! Like Paula, I will say a little prayer that you are blessed in a special way... Do you have any good appliance stores in your area....they often have good used certified appliances for resale.

Thank goodness the coffee pot still works! and as you say if a broken oven is the worst thing you have to worry about, that's not bad but its bad enough when money is tight. Hope you come up with a solution you can live with. And good job on getting back to your goal weight again.
