Another ramble...
I got a lot of niggly stuff done that's felt like an anvil over my head. The mailbox mount has been wobbly ever since I replaced it (after some yutz hit my trashcan into it months ago). I finally toddled down the driveway with a screwdriver and wrench in hand, and tightened that bad boy up. My driveway is a quarter mile long, so...exercise! LOL! I got some laundry done, and started digging deep in the kitchen pantry. I found some cake and cornbread mixes that were close to being out of date. So, since I haven't been hungry all day, I decided to bake. I thought it would stimulate my flagging appetite. Two pans of brownies and a pan of corn muffins did the trick. NO! I didn't eat them! I tasted the mixes before baking, and promptly gave everything away to the neighbors. :D
You may remember that my sister sent me a mega-box of Omaha Steaks goodies for Christmas. Once the baking had made me hungry, I broke my 26 hour fast with a pork chop and green beans. Couldn't finish it all, but I'm fed, and on plan. The pork chops were trimmed to death, and even after marinating in mojo, were pretty flavorless. Uninspiring meal, but the tummy rumbles are quelled.
I also made some AMAZING bone broth from the marrow bones I bought the other day. I ended up with 2.5 quarts of it. YUM! After I strained it out, I gave the bones to the neighbor for their dogs. Talk about some happy puppies!
My black cat, Jack, appears to have allergies. It was a beautiful day today, so I've had the windows open, to air out the house. Poor little guy has watery eyes, and sneezed his way through his dinner. (I just put down the bowl of milk the beans were in for him, and he actually hissed at it! ROFL! Now he's shaking his head and sticking out his tongue like he has something in his throat..My cats do not do human food! Vegetables in milk were a staple on my grandparents' Michigan farm. Does anyone else do that?? )
Tomorrow, my only client of the day is the Thai foodie that always brings me exotic food. I saved one of the pans of brownies for her, since Thai culture makes a big deal of even exchanges.
Well, that's all my news that's fit to print.
Wishing you all a serene night, and a bright awakening tomorrow.
