Was pissed off yesterday. My normal diabetic checkup, weighed in and on their scale, which was 10 pounds heavier! I went all over weighing myself, my scale, Mom's scale - that Higi Station thing at Harris Teeters, the gym - I weight 242.4 MAX! How could the doctors scale have me at 252 - which is so WRONG!! My Mom had a theory - she believes the doctor makes his scale 10 lbs heavier to make people think they way much more then they thought and spur them on to loose weight. Bastards - she might just be right!! :-) lol On a serious note, got my fingers crossed. Hoping my A1C will be better again this time. Should know by this afternoon or tomorrow.

My doctor's scale always says 10lb more than my home digital scale. It's a conspiracy!! LOL

They probably don't calibrate it😜, they are in business if you are in their office! I would go with-"mother's always right" 😊

Really? Whenever I go to the doctor's, my weight is usually two pounds or so lighter than what I normally see on my scale at home.

Probably has to do with fluid consumption during the day or just the weight of clothes, shoes, etc. Mine is consistently 6-8 lbs over what I weigh in the morning.

I always use the Detecto scale to weight myself and if that thing is not calibrated properly it will be way off! I bet they never calibrate their scales...

if I am going to the doctor, I weigh myself at home in my birthday suit and tell them at the office how much I weigh. That's what they enter in my record. 😀

Was it at a different time of day than you typically weigh yourself. Even on my own scale, there is a five pound difference between morning and evening.

I don't believe the doctor's scale. I weigh myself at home in nothing but my underwear and that's what i believe. Sometimes, there can be as much as a 15 lb. difference between my scale and the doctor's due to clothing and food in my stomach.

Hi samarayelle - it was 1.5 hours later and I hadn't eaten cause I had to take a fasting test.
