Hello FS Fam,
I was a “normal-sized” kid until I turned five and then food became significant to me and so did my weight. I’m 5’8” and the least I’ve ever weighed, as an adult, was 138-140lbs. The past two decades I’ve been in the mid-200’s with a few short-lived dips into One-derland. Sadly, I’ve been weight-cycling for the past three decades and I’m now concerned about the health ramifications of said yo-yo dieting and doing my level best not to fall back into excessive/extreme dieting/exercise patterns. I think that I am finally at a place where I can honestly assess my issues with food, weight & body and disband from my usual all-or-nothing approach to… well, everything really. My current health goals are: 1) To have a consistently lower/stable blood sugar reading, 2) To lose weight in 10lb increments and find joy in that progress, 3) To move every single day; no excuses, 4) To remember that consistency is the key to success.

Current Daily Routine: minimum 6-mile walk ( ~ 12,000 steps) w/ 30+min. other (yard work, recumbent bike, dancing)
Weight training: 3-5x weekly (work in progress)
WOE: I identify as a “big eater” so to stay in a deficit I do high-volume low-calorie meals (CICO) & I eat to support my cycle, so sometimes I do eat lower-volume calorie & nutrient dense meals and other times I fast (16-66h). In general, I eat 2mad or 3mad, and sometimes omad or 4mad ~ whatever my body is asking of me. The intent is nourishing well-rounded meals but I don’t deny myself either. I just make sure I track everything so I don’t become mindless in my actions. Restriction leads to binging and that’s something best left in the past. I want to put my weight issues and unhealthy food habits behind me once and for all. I’m rooting for myself and everyone here!
