I took my Baby Boy for a walk yesterday - this is a milestone, not for me, but for him.
He started having seizures beginning of August, he had one every few days at first and then all of a sudden he was having multiple seizures per day. its been a lot of trial and error to get the medication correct and we thought we were finally out of the woods. For a while he was okay, then suddenly another seizure on the 16th September. on the 22nd we were packing to go away for the weekend and he had another one. i increased his dosage and watched him like a hawk. Saturday 30th September he had a seizure early in the morning and it was the longest one yet. This one was also really weird as he looked like he was walking around and shaking his head at first, although he was constantly urinating so I know it was a seizure of some sort. About 2 and half minutes into it, he eventually collapsed and then had the type of seizure we are used to.
Recovery wise, he usually eats like there's no tomorrow after a fit and also runs around like a lunatic - almost as through he has an adrenaline rush. This time round he was very calm which should have been a warning bell to me. He had a second seizure about 15 minutes after the first one and has been unsettled since then.
We took him for a walk on Sunday morning seeing as he absolutely loves his little messages he gets from the neighbourhood and I feel its very cruel to stop all the things he loves just in case something goes wrong.
I now have to take him back to the Vet because something is not right, however I am dreading this... I was told that at some point I'm going to have to consider his quality of life and make a decision.
This baby is my whole world and I just don't know if I can make the right choice for him.
