AHH! I better run faster, you're about to catch up to my weight! As an encouraging note: just 19 days ago, I weighed a little MORE than you do!

You can never know it with my diabetes type 2, Debbie. Sadly, I usually weigh the same for weeks, no matter how strict my dieting is...

keyten77 According to my doctor,.dinner for me should never exceed 15 grams of carbs. So I try to make a meal full of protein and carbs coming from vegetables. Cottage cheese with mozzarella, cherry tomatoes and ruccola seasoned with basil and oregano is my favourite. Another alternative is hard boiled egg with chicken breast cold cut and cottage cheese. I could also have some chicken breast with ruccola, but I hardy ever cook my dinner, as I feel tired after the workouts.

Somehow 15 carbs for a diebetic dinner doesn’t sound right if it is not a KETO based diet of some type.

Kenna, how much would you suggest for dinner then? I was told to stick to 25g/breakfast, 15g/snack, 45g/lunch, 20g/snack and 15g/dinner.

That is just a 120 grams. I know several diabetics that have had their carb allocation lowered From 150 to 135. Even the ADA is beginning to really drop those recommended carbs down, but the problem is that you don’t have the advantage of A Keto diet where your begin to burn body fat for energy. And, you have the disadvanrage that you end up eating more fat just so you have something to eat . In a non fat burning world that leaves you at risk for fat accumulation in your blood vessels. Diabetics with obesity are already at significantly higher risk for heart disease. I think I would seek clarification of these types of questions and ask for a nutritionall consult to help you develope a sustainable meal plan. I see by the breakdown they gave you that they are trying to concentrate the heaviest carb load for mid day so that you physically active hours ahead of you to help burn those carbs off and fewer in the evening when you are sedentary. I’m assuming you are Type 2, not insulin dependent.. work on the 120, see how it goes but I would talk to them about some help with visualizing what that meal plan should look like. I

September is also type 2 diabetic which is an issue because she probably ends up eating more fats than might be prudent in a non Keto world. At the 75-80 gm of carbs that you are doing I’m guessing you are doing a modified Keto of some type.— anyway. Hope she can get some clarification so she can get both her diabetes and weight under the best control possible.
